On December 17, according to information from the Ministry of Public Security, after 10 hours of searching, authorities found a 2-year-old girl who fell into a deep ravine on her way home from school.
Because her parents were away working in the fields, on the afternoon of December 16, after finishing school at Van Ho 1 Kindergarten (Phong Tho District, Lai Chau), Hang Thi D. (born in 2022) and her brother Hang Minh Kh. (born in 2021) walked home by themselves.
While moving, D. slipped and fell and got lost due to the rugged mountainous terrain, many deep ravines, and dense vegetation.
After 10 hours of searching, authorities found a 2-year-old girl who fell into a deep ravine on her way home from school.
Immediately after receiving the news that D. was missing, Nam Xe Commune Police quickly deployed forces to the scene to verify and search, and at the same time reported to Phong Tho District Police and the Commune People's Committee to mobilize 100 people, including police officers, militia, village security and order team and Sin Suoi Ho Border Guard force to coordinate the search through the night.
The search area is a rugged terrain with steep hills, deep ravines and temperatures as low as 6 degrees Celsius. After 10 hours of effort, this morning, the search team discovered D. with many scratches and a state of panic at the foot of the mountain, about 1km from home.
Immediately after being found, the child was promptly taken home by authorities and his family to be cared for and recuperated. The child's health and mental state gradually stabilized.
