January 11, in Hanoi, The Plant Protection Department and the CropLife Vietnam Association held a signing ceremony for a cooperation plan to implement the Management Framework Program. pesticides sustainable (SPMF) by 2024.

In the first year of implementing the SPMF Program, the Plant Protection Department and CropLife Vietnam will review, evaluate and improve the system of policies for managing and using plant protection drugs in a scientific, advanced manner, in harmony with international standards and regulations of other countries.
The two units will promote the application of advanced solutions on plant protection products; build platforms, train, coach and innovate approaches to improve the effectiveness of responsible, safe and effective use of plant protection products.
In addition, the Plant Protection Department and CropLife Vietnam will promote communication on the role of pesticides, apply new solutions and cooperation results between the Department and CropLife Vietnam in implementing a sustainable pesticide management framework.
Mr. Dang Van Bao, Chairman of CropLife Vietnam, said that strengthening cooperation between state management agencies and industry partners in Vietnam is a prerequisite to ensure the success of the SPMF Program. The results of this program will contribute to improving the capacity of the agricultural sector, ensuring core goals in the sustainable development strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development such as transferring development techniques; providing professional training for farmers; improving management capacity; promoting digital transformation; implementing management policies corresponding to the global economy.
Sharing at the signing ceremony, Mr. Huynh Tan Dat, Director of the Plant Protection Department, suggested that immediately after this signing ceremony, the two units will clearly identify priority tasks and details of each content to be implemented in the coming time to ensure that the contents of the 2024 SPMF Program are implemented on schedule and achieve high efficiency.
Previously, in July 2023, the Plant Protection Department and CropLife Asia signed a cooperation agreement on the SPMF Program for the period 2023 - 2028, affirming CropLife's commitment to support the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the transition to more sustainable food and environmental systems to protect human health, the environment and improve the quality of agricultural products.
The SPMF program in the next 5 years aims to contribute to building a green agriculture, safe and sustainable food, applying scientific innovation in agriculture, promoting growth, improving crop productivity, creating high-quality agricultural products to serve domestic consumption and export needs.
