The medal is inspired by the indomitable spirit of the martial arts land, featuring an image of King Quang Trung on horseback at the center, with a vintage design and colors.
The medal for the 4th edition of the VnExpress Marathon Sparkling Quy Nhon has been redesigned to a square shape, unlike previous editions. The race is held in the city known as the "city of golden lights at night," so this finisher is covered in the characteristic golden color of the long stretches of golden sand along the coast. In the center is an embossed image of King Quang Trung holding a sword and riding a horse, symbolizing the indomitable spirit of Binh Dinh, the land of martial arts.

The architectural features of the ancient Cham towers have been transformed into the main shape in the design. The image of the tower peeking out from behind the statue of King Quang Trung is the Binh Lam Tower. Built around the 10th-11th centuries, it belongs to the earliest group of Cham towers in Binh Dinh province. The name Binh Lam is associated with the process of developing this land, similar to how the VnExpress Marathon organizers chose Quy Nhon as the first location to host the race.
The inscription "Sparkling Quy Nhon" appears in orange and red – the signature colors of the VnExpress Marathon series. The medal border is inspired by the willow trees along the coast of Binh Dinh province, known for their strong vitality.
Similar to the two tournaments in Ho Chi Minh City and Hue , the back of the medal is engraved with the word "FINISHER" and two lines from the song "Quy Nhon and Nostalgia" by musician Tran Ngoc Son - " Oh Quy Nhon! The place I love and miss, the heroic land radiating the spirit of Tay Son." Hoang Hau Beach with its rocky shores and crashing waves is depicted right below the two lines of lyrics.

"When sketching out the design for this year's medal, we aimed to create a harmonious composition incorporating historical, cultural, and artistic elements," a representative from the organizing committee stated.
Upon completing the designated distances, athletes will receive medals corresponding to the color of the ribbon. The medal ribbons utilize a color-changing effect with fresh, vibrant colors, reflecting the dynamic spirit of a city in transition.
The VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon 2023 took place on June 11th. This event marked several changes in the organization and regulations of the VM system, including the VM Sharing event – a donation program in collaboration with the Binh Dinh Provincial Red Cross.
