Determined to reach the advanced new rural area goal by 2024

Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province is entering the acceleration phase in the construction of advanced new rural areas, with the goal of completion by 2024.

Journey to improve new rural criteria: Steady progress

Since the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction, Lang Giang district has achieved many impressive results. 2024 is expected to be an important milestone when Lang Giang strives to become a district meeting advanced NTM standards. This is a big challenge, requiring continuous efforts from the government, departments, organizations and people of the whole district.

To achieve this goal, the district has set two key criteria to be achieved in 2024: planning and environment. From the beginning of the year, localities in the district have synchronously deployed specific action plans and programs. Each commune has its own roadmap to complete the criteria according to the advanced NTM standards, while ensuring that environmental factors, living conditions and infrastructure are improved.

One of the notable highlights is the completion of infrastructure. Inter-commune and inter-village roads are being upgraded, and many public works such as schools, health stations, and cultural houses are also being invested in to improve their quality.

In particular, Lang Giang district has invested heavily in concreting the rural traffic system, expanding traffic routes to serve production and people's lives, creating favorable conditions for the movement and transportation of agricultural products and goods.

In addition, the district also focuses on improving the quality of communes that have met advanced and model NTM standards. Communes such as Tien Luc, Nghia Hung, An Ha, Dao My, Thai Dao and Xuong Lam have completed 4/8 important construction items, while the remaining 4 items are being urgently carried out to ensure progress. These communes are leading localities in the movement to build model NTM, with many modern agricultural production models, bringing stable income to the people.

In the field of agricultural development, the district has been promoting high-tech production models, applying science and technology to cultivation. Models such as growing fruit trees (lychee, grapefruit, orange) or raising livestock and poultry on a large scale have created economic breakthroughs. Thanks to that, people's lives have been increasingly improved, income has increased, contributing significantly to the goal of sustainable economic development of the district.

In addition to focusing on infrastructure development, Lang Giang district pays special attention to soft criteria such as environment, culture, and quality of life. These are important factors contributing to creating an advanced NTM district, bringing sustainable development to rural areas.

Environmental issues are always a big challenge when the economic development process often comes with the risk of pollution, especially water pollution and domestic waste. In this situation, the district has implemented many synchronous measures to handle waste and control environmental pollution. Localities in the district have been doing a good job of propaganda, raising people's awareness of environmental protection, building models of waste collection at source and scientific treatment of domestic waste.

In addition, maintaining and developing model new-style rural villages is also one of the key tasks in 2024. In addition to environmental solutions, Lang Giang district also focuses on developing culture and preserving traditional values. Community cultural activities and local festivals are held regularly, creating a rich and diverse cultural space. This not only contributes to maintaining national identity but also creates community cohesion, promotes solidarity and social development.

Mobilizing resources and launching emulation movements to build new rural areas

Reporting on the preliminary results of the implementation of the new rural area program in the first 6 months of 2024 and the orientation and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024, Mr. Bui Duc Hung, Head of the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that one of the decisive factors for the success of the advanced rural area construction program in Lang Giang is the ability to mobilize resources. Up to now, the district has mobilized 2,355 billion VND to invest in infrastructure development projects, improve the quality of life and protect the environment. However, to complete the goal in 2024, the district needs to continue to diversify resources, especially from businesses, social organizations and people.

Accordingly, the district has implemented the motto "Mobilizing resources from the community is decisive, the participation of businesses and society is important, and support from the state budget is necessary."

Local authorities always ensure that the use of resources must be transparent, fair and supervised by the people, in accordance with the principle of "people know, people discuss, people do, people check and people benefit."

In addition, propaganda work on building advanced new rural areas has also received special attention. The district has launched exciting emulation movements, motivating people to actively participate. Outstanding localities in this movement will be commended and rewarded, creating encouragement and promoting emulation among communes and villages.
