Determined to make a breakthrough in attracting investment from Chinese enterprises and Guangdong province into the Vietnamese market

The workshop introducing Vietnam's investment environment and projects in Guangzhou attracted the participation of leaders and senior managers of more than 100 enterprises in many fields.

On July 12, in Guangzhou city, under the direction of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou, the Consulate General's Trade Office and the Vietnam Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises (VAFIE) jointly organized the "Seminar to introduce Vietnam's investment environment and projects".

Attending the workshop were representatives of many typical associations and industries of Guangdong province (China) such as: Deputy Secretary General of Guangdong Province Logistics Industry Association, Chairman of the International Exchange and Cooperation Committee of China Tea Circulation Association, Secretary General of Guangzhou Logistics Engineering and Application Association, Deputy Secretary General of Shenzhen City Automotive Electronics Industry Association...

The workshop also attracted the participation of leaders and senior managers of more than 100 enterprises in fields such as logistics, electronics, automobiles, information, energy, construction, building materials, machinery and equipment manufacturing...

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vietnamese Consul General in Guangzhou Nguyen Viet Dung emphasized the common perceptions of the two countries' senior leaders reached during the visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in December 2023 on "focusing on strengthening investment cooperation in areas such as agriculture, infrastructure, energy, digital economy, green development; encouraging and supporting enterprises with strength, reputation, and advanced technology to invest in the other country in areas suitable to the needs and sustainable development strategies of each country, creating a fair and favorable business environment for businesses of both sides".

And most recently, during a working trip to Dalian City (China), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also sent a strong message about a dynamic and innovative Vietnam, an attractive destination for global corporations in general and China in particular.

Therefore, events like this Workshop are efforts by Vietnamese agencies to implement the major policies of the Party and State on strengthening strategic cooperation, attracting high-quality investment, and encouraging businesses to expand their business in Vietnam in high-priority industries to promote green growth and digital transformation.

Speaking at the workshop, Ms. Tran Lam, General Secretary of the Guangzhou City Logistics Technology and Application Association, highly appreciated the significance of the cooperation events between businesses of the two sides organized by the Vietnamese Consulate General in Guangzhou, the Trade Office and relevant agencies.

With advantages such as high economic growth rate, strategic geographical location, abundant resources and preferential policies of the Government, Vietnam is one of the leading important emerging markets in Southeast Asia.

Therefore, Chinese industry associations are actively supporting member businesses to seek opportunities to expand investment and enhance exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam.

Ms. Tran Lam also shared that key measures to promote cooperation in the coming time will include: Increasing experience sharing and promoting advanced technologies to Vietnam, helping Vietnamese enterprises reduce operating costs and improve production efficiency; organizing many exchange activities such as fairs, promotions, thematic forums, etc.; promoting cooperation in projects between ministries, sectors and enterprises of the two sides.

In particular, from July 31 to August 6, the Guangzhou City Logistics Technology and Application Association will organize a delegation of 20 enterprises to Vietnam to attend the "Vietnam International Logistics Exhibition 2024" organized by Ho Chi Minh City, and at the same time organize working sessions with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Logistics Service Enterprise Association, the Trade Promotion Center of Thu Duc City and a number of Vietnamese enterprises.

As the main speaker of the Workshop, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Foreign Investment Enterprises, gave a presentation introducing Vietnam's investment environment and policies, investment cooperation orientations with China and Vietnam's preparations to welcome the investment wave in the coming time.

Representatives of Vietnamese enterprises introduced investment attraction projects in industrial parks such as Kim Bang 1, Viglacera, Shinec, Frasers Property... Vietnamese representatives also actively discussed and answered questions from Chinese enterprises about preferential policies, investment support and strategies to attract Chinese enterprises.

Delegates attending the workshop believe that such events will become a new starting point for Vietnam-China cooperation, building a stronger bridge for both sides, adding vitality and new momentum to cooperation between Vietnam-China in general and Vietnam and Guangdong province in particular.
