Reporting at the meeting, a representative of the consulting unit CPG Corporation Singapore said that after studying the context, location, and potential of Quang Tri province, the consulting unit proposed to plan important subdivisions within the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone, including: Industrial park and energy complex, seaport, eco-tourism urban area, modern rural agricultural area, and airport area.

The consulting unit also proposed two preliminary options. Accordingly, using 3,400 hectares of land to develop around the airport, 8 sub-areas were formed including: 5 functional areas and 3 residential areas.

The consulting unit believes that the industrial production ecosystem, seaport logistics and energy complex with large-scale industrial areas will promote the economic competitiveness of the Eastern part of Quang Tri province based on maritime transport. In addition, air transport will help improve the competitiveness of completed industrial production, completed industrial production industries, industries producing products sensitive to transportation time, competitiveness in production and export, etc.

Mr. Ha Sy Dong requested the consulting unit to absorb the opinions of the leaders of the sectors, especially the opinion of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien in the spirit of closely following the national master plan, provincial planning and zoning plans. In the roadmap for adjusting the Southeast Economic Zone Planning, it is necessary to adjust in the direction of updating the new ideas that the consulting unit has just reported.

The consulting unit also needs to further study the social impact when implementing the project, ensuring that it does not affect people's livelihoods, creating consensus and support from people in the area, and harmonizing socio-economic development and environmental protection,” Mr. Dong emphasized.
