Dong Nai is a dynamic region in the South, leading the country and the Southeast Asian region in terms of economics, finance, trade, services, healthcare, education, training and development of high-quality human resources, science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. The province has a large area, relatively flat terrain, a temperate climate, stable water resources, and is rarely affected by storms, floods, and natural disasters.
This is an opportunity and potential available for the province to arrange a space for stable and sustainable socio-economic development. Dong Nai has many traditional craft village industrial clusters and more than 33 industrial parks established by the Prime Minister and operating stably.
In addition, Dong Nai is also rapidly developing housing projects, hotels, hospitals, schools, banking and financial services, entertainment services, resorts, supermarkets, golf courses, etc. to meet the diverse needs of investors.
Speaking at today's meeting, Mr. Tran Quoc Phuong - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment - said: "In addition to the achieved results, the socio-economic development of the province in the past time has not had a breakthrough, not commensurate with the potential and available advantages of the province. The economy has grown strongly but not really sustainably. The technical infrastructure and social infrastructure systems, although focused on investment, are not yet synchronous, especially the transport infrastructure has not met the development requirements.
This time, Dong Nai province's planning needs to build an effective and connected spatial organization model. Maximize the available potential and advantages to stimulate new growth drivers for Dong Nai province, the Southeast region and the whole country. Council members need to give their opinions on the content and results of the provincial strategic environmental assessment and the draft Appraisal Report of the Council."
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh - Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, the draft Provincial Planning has been completed and submitted to the Appraisal Council. Throughout the planning process, Dong Nai province has determined to take people as the center, selectively develop, attract high-tech industries, aiming for the goal of neutral emissions "Net-Zero" by 2050.
At the same time, the province identified new potential areas that need to be awakened and effectively exploited, such as the Dong Nai River planning, the planning of the surrounding areas of Bien Hoa airport and Long Thanh airport, which are new driving forces for the province's breakthrough development.
