With its geographical location on the coast, adjacent to the key economic zone of the South, in addition to possessing many famous landscapes and landscapes with beautiful beaches and long sand dunes, Binh Thuan is also a place where many tangible and intangible cultural heritages converge, bearing the mark of the residential communities of districts, towns and cities in the province.
Preserve, promote and advertise values
Binh Thuan province has over 70 historical - cultural relics and landscapes that have been ranked, including 28 national relics and landscapes and 4 intangible cultural heritages that have been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Possessing a system of historical and cultural relics and intangible cultural heritages such as craft villages and festivals that have been recognized as national or provincial relics and heritages, over the past time, all levels and sectors of the province have paid attention to preserving, conserving, promoting values, creating a spread and lasting vitality for the relics and heritages. Those precious heritages have always been consciously preserved, promoted and promoted by all levels, sectors and communities. Most of the national and provincial relics have been invested in and restored with State and socialized capital, thereby contributing to the effective preservation, exploitation and promotion of cultural heritage values, meeting the spiritual and cultural needs of the people, promoting tourism and local socio-economic development. At the same time, the locality also organizes the restoration, elevation and implementation of a number of typical traditional rituals in festivals of ethnic communities in the province, contributing to the preservation of heritage, creating a spread and promotion of the cultural features of ethnic communities in the area.
With intangible cultural heritages such as traditional craft villages, the province always pays attention to finding solutions to preserve, maintain and develop on the basis of creating conditions for craft villagers to be attached to and improve their income from traditional occupations. At the same time, improve the quality and diversify products to create jobs, increase income for people, preserve national cultural identity, attract tourists to visit, and contribute to promoting products. In particular, the Cham community has been attached to Binh Thuan for many centuries and together with other ethnic groups in this land, has contributed many valuable heritages to the culture of the province in particular and of Vietnam in general. Preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Cham people in the process of building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity is an important requirement, always receiving special attention from Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province.
Development orientation
In order to thoroughly grasp, concretize and effectively implement Directive No. 04, dated February 7, 2023 of the Prime Minister on the orientation for developing rural architectural planning in Vietnam, creating identity and preserving traditional architecture, Binh Thuan province has developed a plan to improve management work, conform to and institutionalize the leadership and direction of the Party and State on architecture with the goal of building a modern Vietnamese architecture, imbued with national cultural identity, inheriting and promoting the value of traditional architectural heritage, suitable to natural conditions, socio-economic conditions, national defense, security and international integration requirements, inheriting construction experience, preventing natural disasters, and adapting to climate change.
The Provincial People's Committee said that in order to effectively implement the orientation of developing the planning of Vietnamese rural architecture, creating identity and preserving traditional architecture in the province, it is required that sectors and localities must identify responsibilities and promote the proactive and active role of state and local management agencies, ensuring the quality and progress of implementation. It is necessary to identify the role and relationship between local identity and rural architecture to contribute to building new rural architecture with identity, maintaining and transmitting traditional cultural values in the process of rural development in general and in the national target program on new rural construction in particular. Develop a rural architectural planning in the province with the orientation of developing identity and preserving traditional architecture associated with the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
