The general planning for construction of the coastal area of ​​Quang Tri province must ensure consistency and have a long-term vision.

This morning, October 1, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien chaired a meeting with a number of relevant departments, branches, units and localities to listen to the report on the Master Plan for the construction of the coastal area of ​​Quang Tri province until 2045.

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Construction and the consulting unit (Truong Hai Joint Stock Company) presented ideas for the construction of the Master Plan for the coastal area of ​​Quang Tri province until 2045, including 4 sub-zones. In particular, the focus of development of the coastal corridor is determined to be the gas industrial park, multi-industry industry exploiting the advantages of seaports, logistics services, marine eco-tourism urban areas and coastal sand ecology associated with ecosystem restoration.

On the other hand, developing urban marine eco-tourism and coastal sand eco-tourism is associated with ecosystem restoration, logistics services and urban development, and Quang Tri airport.

The planned area is expected to be about 9,541.87 hectares, of which the North borders Quang Binh province; the East borders the East Sea; the South borders the boundary of the General Planning Project of the Southeast Economic Zone of Quang Tri province; the West borders the communes of Vinh Tu, Trung Nam, Hien Thanh (Vinh Linh district) and the communes of Trung Hai, Gio Chau, Gio Mai, Song Canh Hom (Gio Linh district).

On that basis, propose research ideas, overall assessment of natural conditions, current land use status, current population status, current landscape status, scenic spots, tourism...

With the consistent viewpoint of planning and constructing the coastal area of ​​Quang Tri province in the direction of a functional service - tourism area with identity, sustainability, eco-tourism, green tourism associated with the potential and advantages of the sea, minimizing the impacts of climate change, maximally protecting coastal protection forests..., representatives of departments, branches and units have also suggested and contributed many opinions related to the feasibility of the general planning, factors that can directly affect the infrastructure framework.

At the same time, it is recommended that the Department of Construction and consulting units research, calculate, and develop projects that forecast the needs for residential development in subdivisions as well as accompanying technical and social infrastructure in a specific, long-term direction.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien highly appreciated the careful preparation and quality project ideas of the Department of Construction and the consulting unit.

Based on the specific contents of each field that the departments and branches have focused on analyzing, discussing and orienting at the meeting, it is recommended that the Department of Construction preside over and direct the consulting unit to promptly absorb, supplement and adjust the planning project to ensure consistency, have a long-term vision, be suitable for the economic conditions of the region, effectively use natural resources, connect with neighboring areas, especially must closely follow the orientation of the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggested some additional contents to create a breakthrough in planning. In particular, the Department of Construction was assigned to advise on organizing seminars and forums with the participation of representatives of ministries, branches, central agencies, experts and scientists to connect ideas; maximize the advantages and potentials of the coastal area of ​​Quang Tri; ensure synchronous infrastructure to attract investors, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
