On December 25, the Bach Dang National Special Historical Relic Management Board coordinated with the People's Committee of Yen Giang Ward (Quang Yen Town) to organize the 2024 Yen Giang Ward Great Fortune Festival.
Yen Giang Communal House, whose Chinese name is “An Hung Communal House”, is located right on the land bank of the historic Bach Dang River. Yen Giang Communal House was built in the 16th century, and has undergone many renovations and restorations. In 2013, the communal house was invested in for a comprehensive upgrade.
The communal house is closely associated with the history of the formation and development of the locality: During the Tran Dynasty, it was called An Hung Camp, during the Le Dynasty, it was called Lang Rung (also known as An Hung Village); during the reign of King Le Anh Tong, it was changed to Yen Hung Commune. In 1959, Yen Hung Commune was renamed Yen Giang Commune, now Yen Giang Ward. The communal house became a place for cultural and political activities during the feudal period, especially the place to worship Thanh Hoang - Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and the ancestors who had the merit of reclaiming land, reclaiming land from the sea to establish villages, expanding fields and developing the homeland.
Dai Ky Phuoc Festival is one of the traditional festivals imbued with the cultural identity of Yen Giang ward - a locality where the Bach Dang river has been marked with 3 naval battles against invaders.
The traditional Dai Ky Phuoc Festival (also known as Dai Ky Phuc Festival) is an occasion for local people to thank the Thanh Hoang and the Tien Cong for their contributions in the fight against foreign invaders to build and develop the homeland, and to bless the villagers with a year of bountiful harvests, a prosperous and happy life. At the same time, it is also an occasion for people to pray to the Thanh Hoang of the Village - Duc Thanh Tran Hung Dao to bless the people with good health, peace and better results in work and production in the new year.
Maintaining the organization of festivals not only promotes the fine traditions of the locality, strengthens the solidarity of the people in the ward, but also contributes to educating the generations about pride in cultural and historical traditions.
The festival takes place over 3 days from December 24-26. After the incense offering and drum beating ceremony, the festival takes place with many unique cultural and artistic activities and traditional games.
