Implementing the Plan, Market Management teams have organized and implemented many solutions such as establishing working groups, coordinating with competent authorities to establish interdisciplinary inspection teams to conduct inspections and propagate laws on food safety and hygiene for establishments producing and trading confectionery products in the management area.
Since the beginning of September, the market management force of Quang Ninh province has presided over and coordinated the dissemination of laws on food safety and hygiene, and signed commitments not to trade in counterfeit goods, banned goods, goods of unknown origin, and smuggled goods to 1,649 organizations, individuals, and commercial establishments.
205 cases of administrative violations of food safety regulations were handled, with fines of VND1.5 billion imposed. Of these, 16 cases involved the trading of confectionery products for the Mid-Autumn Festival, forcing the destruction of 1,452 confectionery products that did not meet food safety and hygiene standards.
Through the work of strengthening market inspection and control, it shows that this year in Quang Ninh, there is no phenomenon of the selling price of some moon cake products increasing as in previous years. Most stores selling moon cake products basically publicly list prices, sell at the right price and mainly sell products with brands and clear origins.
The phenomenon of trading in products of unknown origin and not ensuring food safety and hygiene still appears in small quantities, on a small scale; no typical cases have been detected, and no hot spots have been formed in the whole province.
However, the Market Management Department of Quang Ninh province still recommends that people should buy Mid-Autumn Festival goods at reputable and famous establishments. Limit buying goods at places of unknown origin or that do not ensure food hygiene. This helps ensure food safety for you and your family during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
