The Vietnam national team is training alongside the U.23 Vietnam team to prepare for the match against Palestine, which will take place on September 11 at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh). Coach Philippe Troussier has called up many promising players for this training session, including midfielder Trieu Viet Hung of Hai Phong Club.
Viet Hung was called up to the Vietnam national team in the June training session, but did not play in both matches against Hong Kong and Syria due to injury. In this training session, the player born in 1997 hopes to adapt to Mr. Troussier's requirements.
"When I joined the Vietnam national team, I felt that the new philosophy of the coach here was different from that at the club. We had to meet the requirements and instructions of the coaching staff.

My difficulty is having to work with a new philosophy, but as a professional player, I have to know how to adapt. Mr. Troussier is training the players how to move and circulate the ball forward, how to not lose the ball," Viet Hung affirmed.
The midfielder of Hai Phong team also shared: "My goal is to be included in the list of the Vietnam team in the match against Palestine, to play on the field and show my full ability. The level of competition in the Vietnam team is very high. The team is a collection of famous players, requiring me to try very hard to be able to compete."
Viet Hung had a good season at Hai Phong FC, playing 18 matches (including 16 as a starter), scoring 3 goals, and being an important factor in the squad built by coach Chu Dinh Nghiem. In particular, Viet Hung played prominently as a winger, but also played as a left-back in some matches.
The 26-year-old player commented: "At the club, I play as a winger, or sometimes as a full-back. As for the national team, I might be assigned to play as a central midfielder."
Before playing for Hai Phong FC, Viet Hung played for HAGL FC. When asked about HAGL having only 2 players in this Vietnam national team training session (including Tuan Anh and Thanh Binh), Viet Hung said: "This is the head coach's decision, whoever has good form at the club will be given the opportunity."
Viet Hung also confirmed that he had only said hello, but had not been able to talk much with his former teammate Cong Phuong. He said: "Cong Phuong has just returned to the Vietnam team, we have only said hello, but have not been able to talk much. I just feel that Cong Phuong seems a bit tired."
