MU observes Florentinoa Luis' situation at Benfica

According to journalist Pedro Almeida, MU sent scouts to monitor central defender Florentinoa Luis in the Benfica 2-0 Estrela Amadora match in the Primeira Liga that took place early Sunday morning.

The 23-year-old centre-back came on at the start of the second half, before Benfica scored two late goals to secure all three points at home.

In the opening match of the new season on August 14, MU target Florentinoa Luis also came off the bench. That increased speculation that he could leave the Portuguese club in the summer transfer window.

Journalist Pedro Almeida said that MU is considering making an offer for Florentino Luis in the remaining time of the summer transfer window. Coach Erik ten Hag is said to still want to add a central defender and a midfielder.

Luis was recently offered a 40 million Euro deal by a club, but it was not coach Erik ten Hag's team.

In addition to MU, Man City, Liverpool and PSG are also said to be monitoring Luis' situation at Benfica.

MU closely monitors Marco Verratti's situation

According to L'Equipe , Marco Verratti will leave the Parc des Princes this summer because he is not in the long-term plans of coach Luis Enrique.

As a player with more than a decade of experience playing for the capital team in Paris, Verratti has made a name for himself thanks to his technical ability to play in midfield.

However, new captain Luis Enrique wants to put his trust in newcomers like Manuel Ugarte in the PSG reform.

Marco Verratti was left out and has yet to find a new destination, despite receiving an extremely generous salary offer from Al-Ahli Club (Saudi Arabia).

French press said MU is closely monitoring Verratti's transfer progress after the 0-2 defeat at Tottenham.

The Manchester team has many problems in the midfield. Marco Verratti could be the solution for coach Ten Hag, playing alongside "sweeper" Casemiro.

In the past, the Red Devils had contacted the Italian star when coach Mourinho was still in charge. However, they later chose to bring in Fred instead of Verratti.

In the opening two matches of the Premier League, coach Ten Hag tried to force new player Mason Mount into the central midfield role, but the £55 million contract played poorly.

Recently, in addition to Verratti, MU has also kept an eye on several other quality midfielders such as Sofyan Amrabat, Amadou Onana or Gravenberch.

MU urgently recruits backup goalkeeper

Crystal Palace are in contact to sign Dean Henderson on loan with an option to buy at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Negotiations are going well as the Selhurst Park outfit look to replace Vicente Guaita, who is set to leave the club.

MU accepted the loan option with a buyout clause if Dean Henderson plays the number of matches committed in the contract between the two clubs.

If he joins Palace, the 26-year-old goalkeeper will compete for the number one position with Sam Johnstone, also a goalkeeper who grew up at MU academy.

In both the first two rounds of the Premier League, Henderson was on the MU reserve list, after he fully recovered from injury.

With Dean Henderson about to leave Old Trafford, coach Ten Hag needs to urgently recruit another goalkeeper to replace Andre Onana because Tom Heaton is injured.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Manchester team has just approached Benfica's Vlachodimos.

"MU is considering recruiting Vlachodimos. The 29-year-old Greek goalkeeper is at the top of MU's target list, in case Henderson joins Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest," Romano tweeted.

Vlachodimos has served the Portuguese side for five years, making 150 appearances and has a contract until 2027.

Notably, Benfica fans once compared Vlachodimos to "the Greek Dea Gea" because of his good ability to play barefoot.
