Regarding the fact that many parents gathered at the gate of Tay Mo 3 Primary School (Nam Tu Liem District) to petition the school to allow their children to enroll in the school, on the evening of August 21, the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District informed about the solution.
According to information from the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem district, Tay Mo ward has a rapid urbanization rate, with a population of about 70,000 people, but there are only 2 primary schools: Tay Mo Primary School and Ly Nam De Primary School.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Ly Nam De Primary School has nearly 1,500 students, Tay Mo Primary School has nearly 2,500 students. To reduce the load on Tay Mo Primary School, Nam Tu Liem District has developed a project to split Tay Mo Primary School into two schools: Tay Mo Primary School and Tay Mo 3 Primary School.
Tay Mo 3 Primary School is a public school built with public investment from Nam Tu Liem District. Residents of Vinhomes Smart City Urban Area do not have to contribute to the budget to build the school.
At the time of enrollment according to the city's general schedule, Tay Mo 3 Primary School had not yet completed its school apparatus, so the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District directed Tay Mo Primary School to carry out enrollment work for Tay Mo 3 Primary School as well.
Accordingly, the total enrollment quota for grade 1 according to the zoning for Tay Mo 3 Primary School is 400, including students in residential groups 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and buildings that have not yet established residential groups in Vinhomes Smart City Urban Area.
All 400 students were recruited according to regulations and were in the right groups. However, due to the rapid population growth, by the end of the enrollment period, the school had recruited 60 more students than the target. The total number of first grade students recruited was 460, divided into 13 classes.
After separating Tay Mo Primary School, the number of remaining students at Tay Mo Primary School is 1,791 students; the number of students at Tay Mo 3 Primary School is 1,111 students, including 460 newly recruited grade 1 students, the remaining students are grades 2, 3, 4, 5 separated from Tay Mo Primary School according to the zoning.
As of late afternoon on August 21, there were 524 applications from parents wishing to transfer their children to Tay Mo 3 Primary School.
Among them are 233 students studying in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 at Ly Nam De Primary School and students from other districts and provinces who have just moved to live in newly handed over apartment buildings...
Regarding the solution, the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem district said that it will strengthen propaganda work so that people understand that Tay Mo 3 Primary School is a public school separated from Tay Mo Primary School and is for children in Tay Mo ward.
After separating grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and recruiting new grades 1, the total number of students at Tay Mo 3 Primary School is 30 classes with 1,111 students, exceeding the target (according to regulations, 30 classes with a maximum of 1,050 students).
The People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District assigned the Department of Education and Training of the district to coordinate with the People's Committee of Tay Mo Ward and related units to review the cases of students currently studying at Ly Nam De Primary School with registered residence in the enrollment area, wishing to go to Tay Mo 3 Primary School for consideration and settlement according to regulations.
The District People's Committee also continues to grasp the situation, collect information and aspirations to synthesize, classify subjects, count the number, report to leaders and advise on solutions according to regulations.
