Investment and construction management; ethnic minorities, mountainous areas; food hygiene and safety

On the morning of December 9, the 13th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, held the opening ceremony of the 29th Session (regular session at the end of 2024) to promptly consider and decide on issues under its authority.

Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van delivered the opening speech at the 29th session of the 13th Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council.

Provincial Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council including Nguyen Cao Phuc and Nguyen Tan Duc co-chaired the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Council of the 15th National Assembly Dinh Thi Phuong Lan; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Dang Ngoc Huy; Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Hong Minh; Mr. Vo Thanh An, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van said that in 2024, Quang Ngai will achieve and exceed 25/25 socio-economic targets, of which 9 targets will exceed the plan. Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the province will increase by 4.07% compared to 2023. GRDP per capita is about 4,460 USD. Budget revenue will exceed the central target by 15.5%. Total social investment capital in 2024 will reach 39 trillion VND, an increase of 3.2% compared to 2023.

Cultural and sports activities are organized enthusiastically, people's demand for entertainment and recreation increases, tourism stimulus activities are organized in many forms. Foreign affairs, investment promotion, and trade promotion activities are carried out regularly. Social security policies are given attention and focus. Reviewing and simplifying administrative procedures continue to be strongly implemented; digital transformation is focused on in all sectors and fields. National defense and security are ensured, social order and safety are maintained.

Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van highly appreciated the solidarity and unanimity of all voters and people of all ethnic groups in the province. Thereby, promoting the tradition of solidarity, sense of responsibility, contributing efforts and intelligence to the common achievements of the province, accompanying the authorities at all levels to effectively implement socio-economic development tasks, creating great confidence, aspiration and determination in implementing the goals and tasks of the socio-economic development plan in 2024 and the tasks of the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021 - 2025.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council will consider and decide on many important issues of the province in 2025 and the entire period of 2021 - 2025. In particular, it will consider 12 submissions of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, the accompanying draft resolutions and the appraisal reports of the Provincial People's Council Committees to pass 12 resolutions on issues related to socio-economic development.

The Provincial People's Council will question and answer members of the Provincial People's Committee on issues of concern to voters, people and delegates, including 3 groups of issues: Investment and construction management; ethnic minorities, mountainous areas; food hygiene and safety.

The 29th session of the 13th Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026, will take place for 2.5 days, from December 9 to 11, 2024, in Quang Ngai city.
