Military Region 7 launched a search and collection of martyrs' remains.

On November 7, the Military Region 7 Command held a ceremony to assign tasks to the teams searching for and collecting the remains of martyrs who died on the Cambodian battlefield to carry out their assigned tasks.

Attending the launch ceremony were representatives of the National Steering Committee 515, representatives of ministries, central and local departments of Vietnam and border localities of Cambodia.

At the departure ceremony, the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense sent words of encouragement to the officers and soldiers of the Martyrs' Remains Search and Collection Teams to carry out their missions well in the land of pagodas during the 2024-2025 dry season.

At the same time, the representative of the Ministry of National Defense directed the Teams to strictly comply with the laws of the host country, ensure absolute safety in all aspects; always promote the spirit of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia. From there, actively search and soon bring the remains of martyrs back to the country for burial, meeting the expectations of the Party, State, people and the wishes of the martyrs' families.

According to Military Region 7, by the end of the 2023-2024 period, Military Region 7 has collected and brought back to Vietnam 574 martyrs' remains. At the same time, it has done a good job of mass mobilization, defense diplomacy, cultural and artistic exchanges, and sports with the Cambodian army and people. Thereby, contributing to strengthening and maintaining the long-term solidarity, friendship, and close relationship between the two nations, armies, and peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

On the same day, delegates and officers and soldiers of Military Region 7 offered flowers and incense to heroic martyrs at Hill 82 National Martyrs Cemetery (Tay Ninh province) and saw off officers and soldiers of Teams K70 and K71 through Xa Mat Border Gate to their missions.
