On January 20, under the direction of the Hanoi Market Management Department, two attack groups of the Market Management force conducted inspections, verifications, handling and discovered violations regarding goods.
Checking the fake cosmetics warehouse of Long Thuy Agent at address 17 Phu Luong, Ha Dong, Hanoi, Market Management Team No. 11 discovered that there were many cosmetic products such as facial cleanser, sunscreen, moisturizer... with signs of counterfeiting the labels of major cosmetic brands from Korea and Thailand.
At the same time, many products here could not present invoices and documents proving the legal origin of the products. During the inspection, the owner himself admitted that these were fake goods, ordered online and then brought back to sell.
"I imported these goods from the internet, I don't know where the warehouse is, many of the products have fake brands, and there are no invoices or documents to prove their origin," said the store owner.
During the meeting, when the inspectors asked for the prices of counterfeit cosmetics labeled as famous foreign brands, the shop owners said that because they were counterfeit products, the prices were very cheap.
For example, Innisfree Green Tea facial cleanser, from the Korean brand Innisfree, is sold on the market for more than 300,000 VND, but here it is only sold for 40,000 VND; Vichy sunscreen is priced on the market for more than 400,000 VND, but at this store it is only 50,000 VND.
According to the results of the counting and confiscation of the violating products, speaking with Lao Dong on the afternoon of January 21, Mr. Nguyen Minh Khoan - Captain of Market Management Team No. 11 - said that the Long Thuy business store is owned by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh.
During the inspection, the Market Management force discovered that the store was selling smuggled cosmetics worth VND5,826,000. For this violation, the Market Management force imposed a fine of VND6 million.
The Market Management Force also discovered that the store was selling counterfeit goods with a value of 1,200,000 VND, and imposed a fine of 6 million VND for this violation. The total fine for the two violations was 12 million VND.
At the warehouse located in Gieng hamlet (Yen Xa, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi city), when Market Management Team No. 5 came down to inspect, the warehouse owner had already dispersed the goods with signs of violations to another place, and the warehouse door was locked. Market Management Team No. 5 said it would continue to investigate and verify to thoroughly handle the violations of this warehouse.
