Thanh Ha Ward dialogue on developing traditional pottery craft

After listening to the Ward People's Committee report on the results of tourism development in Thanh Ha pottery village, many artisans, potters, and representatives of tourism production and business establishments in the area expressed many opinions related to current difficulties.

Specifically: Input materials are increasingly scarce; traditional product output is difficult, low cost; lack of production space, labor force; difficulties in promotion, organizing sightseeing tours, preserving landscapes...

Directly talking to the people, the leader of Thanh Ha ward said that, together with Hoi An city, the ward is continuing to pay attention to investment and renovation work, ensuring that the space and architecture of traditional craft villages are not destroyed; mobilizing people to regularly learn and improve their skills, research and create new products with diverse designs to serve the tastes of consumers.

Along with that, encourage artisans to continue to pass on their skills; build breakthrough tourism products with the participation of the community of artisans and skilled workers; perfect the regulations on organizing activities and production of the pottery village...

Thanh Ha pottery village currently has 110 households and 212 workers, mainly concentrated in 3 groups 22, 24 and 25 of Nam Dieu block, of which 37 households with 68 workers participate in pottery production and tourism services. In 2023, there were 550,000 visitors buying tickets to visit, in the first 9 months of this year, nearly 394,000 visitors.
