The 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Military Region Exercise continues with the combat shooting exercise titled: "Infantry battalion attacks the enemy temporarily defending in mountainous terrain".
To prepare for the actual combat shooting, the military forces have done a good job of preparation such as: Building a training ground system, mobilizing reserve soldiers; organizing training for forces participating in the actual combat shooting exercise according to the following situations: Situation 1 "Participating in preparatory firepower"; Situation 2 "Opening the door to capture the bridgehead"; Situation 3 "Raiding and charging to capture the target"; Situation 4 "Raiding 2 to develop combat"; Situation 5 "Attack the enemy and retreat"; Situation 6 "Control the battle and retreat".
With close coordination, smooth coordination, proactiveness, flexibility, and continuous attacks; after more than 40 minutes of fighting, our forces quickly destroyed targets inside the enemy's fortifications, dominated the battle, and completed the mission.

After 1.5 days of organizing the exercise with many important contents, the 2024 Phu Tho Province Three-Level One-Side Defense Area Exercise was a great success, ensuring absolute safety for people, weapons and equipment. The exercise results were assessed as excellent.
In his closing speech, Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong - Commander of Military Region 2 acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility of the Party Committee, authorities, departments, agencies, unions, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups in Phu Tho province for overcoming all difficulties to successfully organize the 2024 Provincial Military Zone Exercise. He affirmed: The success of the exercise is of great significance, helping the Military Region 2 Exercise Steering Committee gain more experience in leading, directing and operating the exercise. At the same time, it serves as a basis for local Party Committees and authorities to continue to lead and direct the building and consolidation of potentials in the Military Zone; supplement and develop combat plans, be ready to successfully handle situations that arise, and avoid being passive or surprised.

The Phu Tho Provincial Defense Zone Exercise was successfully completed. During the exercise, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and the exercise framework thoroughly grasped and applied the Party's viewpoints and guidelines on the strategy of defending the Fatherland in the new situation, on people's war, building an all-people national defense, people's security posture, and operating the Party's leadership mechanism in the spirit of Resolution No. 28-NQ/TW dated September 22, 2008 of the Politburo on building defense zones, in each content of the exercise to ensure closeness to local reality and the tasks of each sector and each force.
The participants in the exercise were proactive, creative, promoted the sense of responsibility, solidarity, and close coordination to organize the province's KVPT exercise according to plan; ensuring absolute confidentiality and safety of people, vehicles, and weapons and equipment throughout the exercise. Phu Tho province combined the exercise with propaganda and education, making all levels, sectors, and the entire population deeply aware of the task of building KVPT, contributing to building Phu Tho province politically stable, developing socio-economy, and ensuring national defense and security.
The Commander of Military Region 2 suggested that, on the basis of the exercise, Phu Tho province should continue to propose and recommend to competent authorities to consider, amend and supplement issues arising in the process of organizing the exercise and building the local defense zone in the new situation. Continue to thoroughly grasp Resolution 28 of the Politburo, Decree No. 21 of the Government on defense zones; at the same time, improve the quality of training in national defense and security knowledge for cadres and party members, especially cadres in charge, to raise awareness and responsibility in leadership and management, advisory capacity in implementing local defense work, be ready to effectively deal with situations, maintain political security and social order and safety of the province.
Regularly pay attention to building armed forces with sufficient quantity and quality, truly being a tool to protect the Party, protect the government and the people, especially the reserve mobilization force, militia and self-defense force; improve the quality of political education and ideological awareness for armed forces to be ready to fight in all conditions and circumstances, contributing to the successful implementation of two strategic tasks: Building and defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The agencies, units, and forces participating in the exercise have done a good job of ensuring absolute safety for people, weapons, equipment, and vehicles. The Steering Committee for the Provincial Defense Exercise and the components of the exercise framework have drawn a lot of experience in leadership and direction; from the stage of developing plans and documents to operating mechanisms and practicing exercises in peacetime, as a basis for building and consolidating and strengthening the potentials in the provincial defense area, while supplementing and developing combat plans, ready to successfully respond to situations that arise.

The leaders of Phu Tho province accepted and requested the forces participating in the exercise to overcome the limitations that the Military Region 2 Exercise Steering Committee had pointed out; continue to supplement and complete the plans and combat plans that are close to reality and the local security capability. At the same time, propose and recommend to the competent authorities to consider, amend and supplement new issues arising in the process of organizing the exercise and in the construction and operation of the local defense zone.
At the end of the exercise, 8 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Military Zone Exercise received Certificates of Merit from Military Region 2; 13 collectives and 23 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee.
