The Resolution of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Women's Congress, term 2021-2026, sets the target that each association base will mobilize and support at least 5 more households each year; the whole province will mobilize and support at least 2,800 more households to meet the criteria of "Family of 5 no, 3 clean"; each association base will register and carry out 1 project/part of work contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Up to now, in most localities in the province, women's associations at all levels have built appropriate and effective models, methods or environmental protection.
The Provincial Women's Union and other units witnessed the activity of exchanging scrap for trees by members and women of Tien Trang commune (Quang Xuong).
The main road to Tien Trang commune (Quang Xuong) is full of flowers on both sides, and the inner village roads are lined with green fences made of jade-eyed trees, tea trees... Although the summer days are extremely hot, everyone walking on these roads feels cool and relaxed. And there are also many houses with signs "Clean house - beautiful garden"... To achieve the above results, the contribution of cadres, members, and women of the commune is very large. Women maintain weekly general cleaning, take care of trees, and put garbage in the right place. The branches have built many good models such as building a "family of 5 no's, 3 clean"; exchanging garbage for trees and recently implementing the pilot model of the Provincial Women's Union to build a "family of 5 yes's, 3 clean" (5 yes's: safe house, sustainable livelihood, health, knowledge, cultural lifestyle; 3 clean: clean house, clean kitchen, clean alley).
Launched in October 2021, the model "From collecting scrap to millions of gifts" has been maintained by women's associations in towns, villages and hamlets in the province on weekends to collect once at cultural houses. This amount of scrap is sold by the association and raised funds to give gifts to members, poor women, and children of members in difficult circumstances and good students. In Dong Son district, in the roadmap to build a model district, many women's associations have mobilized and donated to buy garbage collection bins placed on village and hamlet roads; propagated trees and flowers, organized general environmental sanitation every Saturday... Up to now, the district has over 300 roads managed by women for green - clean - beautiful environmental sanitation; 125 "green house" models located at public places such as cultural houses, schools, markets... to collect scrap to sell to raise funds to give gifts to women and children in difficult circumstances. 94/94 branches have built models of "clean house - beautiful garden", "clean house - model garden". In 2021, the Women's Union of Dong Son district developed the Project "Classification and treatment of waste into microbial fertilizer, period 2021-2025, vision to 2030" and deployed in 14/14 communes and towns. Many households have used organic waste to make fertilizer for crops, increasing production value and reducing negative impacts on the environment.
The above are two of many units with many models and good practices for environmental protection that the Women's Union at all levels in the province have maintained and expanded. Environmental protection activities are associated with emulation movements, project development, and major campaigns of the union. Typical examples include the campaign to build "5 no, 3 clean families" contributing to the implementation of criterion No. 17 on the environment (clean house, clean kitchen, clean alley) in the National Target Program on new rural construction; the movement "Anti-plastic waste"... The Union has supported the construction of thousands of new toilets each year through the Project "Support for the construction of hygienic toilets in coastal districts of Thanh Hoa province", the Project "Improving sanitation and clean water supply based on results led by women - WOBA", revolving sanitation fund... Up to this point, localities have had models such as: "Clean house - beautiful garden"; "Green fence"; "Women's flower road"; “Green road”; “Green balcony”; “Each family has a clean vegetable garden”; “Classifying and treating organic waste”...
Actively responding to the movement "Women plant the future - for the benefit of 10 years of planting trees, for the benefit of a hundred years of planting people", "Each woman - a green tree", "Each association - a green tree project", contributing to achieving the goal of 1 billion green trees by 2025 according to the Prime Minister's initiative, the Provincial Women's Union has mobilized cadres, members, and women to simultaneously plant trees at historical and cultural relics and scenic spots such as: Long Linh Ngoai village, Truong Xuan commune (Tho Xuan); Ba Trieu Temple, Trieu Loc commune (Hau Loc); Ba Chua Tram Temple campus, Phung Giao commune (Ngoc Lac); Le Dong pagoda, Thai Hoa commune (Trieu Son)... In each locality, green roads and green fences have been formed and increasingly extended, contributing to creating a green, clean, beautiful, and livable rural landscape. Up to now, women in the whole province have participated in building thousands of kilometers of flower roads, green fences, and thatched roads, over 3,000 clean houses - model gardens, clean houses - beautiful gardens with signs, and more than 620,000 households meeting 8 criteria of 5 no, 3 clean...
Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union, Ngo Thi Hong Hao, said: Environmental protection is a key task set out in the resolutions of congresses at all levels. Through this target, many union organizations have good and creative ways of doing things, bearing the union's own mark, contributing to preventing pollution, improving the quality of life, and joining hands to build livable rural areas.
