TPO - The Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District (Hanoi) has sent a notice to 523 parents in Tay Mo Ward who wish to transfer their children to another school to continue sending applications to 3 public primary schools in the area for the unit to receive and resolve.

Regarding the incident where hundreds of parents "surrounded" Tay Mo 3 Primary School, Nam Tu Liem District to "demand" the right for their children to study at a public school near their home, the District Department of Education and Training said it had sent the latest notice to parents.

Accordingly, after a working session between the leaders of the District People's Committee on the afternoon of August 23, the Department of Education and Training issued a notice on receiving school transfer applications from parents of students in Tay Mo ward.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training has received 523 applications from parents whose children are currently studying at different primary schools, requesting that their children transfer to the newly built Tay Mo 3 Primary School (Nam Tu Liem District). Through review, it was found that 230 of them are studying at Ly Nam De Primary School (Tay Mo Ward), the remaining 293 are studying at many different schools.

Announcement from the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District, for 230 students of Ly Nam De Primary School who want to transfer to Tay Mo Primary School, there are 3 solutions: "If students wish to continue studying at Ly Nam De Primary School or transfer to Tay Mo Primary School, or transfer to Dai Mo 3 Primary School (Dai Mo Ward), they must submit a new application at the school they wish to transfer to. The application submission period is from 2:00 p.m. on August 25 to 12:00 p.m. on August 26."

For 293 students currently studying at different schools, if parents wish to transfer to 3 primary schools including Tay Mo Primary School, Ly Nam De Primary School or Dai Mo 3 Primary School, they must submit a new application at the schools they wish to transfer to before 12:00 on August 26.

Tay Mo 3 Primary School currently has 1,111 students. In the new school year, if parents wish to transfer to 3 schools including: Tay Mo Primary School or transfer to Ly Nam De Primary School, or Dai Mo 3 Primary School, they can also submit a new application to the schools they wish to transfer to.

"When parents come to submit a new application (form available at the school), they must submit the original "Application" certified by the school that the parents are holding," the Department of Education and Training announced.

After 12:00 on August 26, schools will compile applications and send them to the Department of Education and Training of Nam Tu Liem District for consideration and settlement according to regulations and notify the results on August 27 as scheduled with parents at the working session on the afternoon of August 23.

According to the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District, Tay Mo Ward has a rapid urbanization rate. In the 2023-2024 school year, there are only 2 public primary schools: Tay Mo Primary School and Ly Nam De Primary School, so the pressure on student numbers is very high.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the district will build and put into use Tay Mo 3 Primary School, with 1,111 students separated from Tay Mo Primary School.

Previously, hundreds of parents came to Tay Mo 3 Primary School to "demand" the right to let their children go to school near their home. According to these parents, they have moved to live in the ward for many years but the public school is always overloaded, many children go to school 4-5 kilometers away, and the traffic is inconvenient. However, when the new school was built and put into operation, it was immediately full, and no new students were recruited, which made the parents upset. The People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem District had to organize a meeting with more than 500 parents on the afternoon of August 23 to answer questions as well as propose solutions for the previous school transfer wishes stated in the application.
