Specifically, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assigned Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc to be Head of the Steering Committee for Anti-Money Laundering.
The decision takes effect from October 18, 2024.
The Steering Committee for Anti-Money Laundering is responsible for assisting the Prime Minister in directing the development of strategies, policies, programs, plans, mechanisms and solutions on anti-money laundering; assisting the Prime Minister in directing, coordinating activities, urging, inspecting and evaluating anti-money laundering work in Vietnam.
At the same time, assist the Prime Minister in directing the implementation of Vietnam's membership obligations in the Asia-Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) and the plan to fully implement the 40 Recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF).
Synthesize and report to the Prime Minister on the situation of anti-money laundering activities, the results of implementing the National Action Plan in each period and at the request of the Prime Minister, and perform other tasks assigned by the Prime Minister.
