Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang met with Mr. Wang Yi, Politburo member, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of China.
In a sincere and friendly atmosphere, the two sides had in-depth discussions on the bilateral relations and international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreeing to promote and effectively implement the "Joint Statement on further deepening and enhancing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance" in line with the "6 more" orientation agreed upon by senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries.
Accordingly, the two sides agreed to effectively implement high-level exchanges and contacts at all levels and sectors; further promote the role of the Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation in urging and reviewing the situation to concretize high-level common perceptions; effectively implement defense and security cooperation activities; strengthen strategic connectivity, especially railway and road infrastructure; accelerate the opening/upgrading/recognition of border gate pairs, effectively implement the pilot construction of smart border gates, and facilitate Vietnamese goods transiting by Chinese railway to third countries via the Asia-Europe railway.

At the same time, the two sides agreed to strengthen the organization of local and people-to-people exchange activities, contributing to firmly consolidating the social foundation; maintain exchanges and coordination on international and regional issues of mutual concern; closely coordinate in border management and protection according to three legal documents on land borders and control of disagreements at sea according to the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
