On the morning of August 26, Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Navy, and the working delegation of the Navy inspected the Good Ship Competition and Surface Ship Training Competition in 2019 at the competition site in Vung Tau City ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau ).

Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Competition and Sports Festival, reported the preliminary results of the competition and sports festival. Accordingly, the units have done a good job of preparing in all aspects.

Vice Admiral Pham Hoai Nam acknowledged and commended the organizing committee, judges, commanders of units and officers and soldiers directly participating in the competition for their efforts to ensure the competition and sports festival took place on time and as planned.

At the same time, the Navy Commander requested the Navy's functional agencies and units to seriously learn from this competition and sports event to promptly adjust and supplement the training and combat readiness of surface ships in the coming time; propose practical solutions to improve the efficiency of preservation, maintenance, inspection and purchase of equipment, materials and spare parts, ensuring long-term and sustainable ship engineering work, meeting the requirements and tasks of the units.
