On September 9, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation inspected the damage caused by floods in Van Ban district.

Also attending were comrade Pham Toan Thang, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; leaders of a number of departments and branches; and leaders of Van Ban district.
The leaders inspected the damage caused by floods and directed the work of overcoming the consequences and searching and rescuing victims in Duong Quy commune, Tham Duong.
Due to the impact of storm No. 3, since the night of September 7, Van Ban district has had heavy rain over a large area causing landslides on some roads. In Tun Tren village, Duong Quy commune, there was a landslide, and one person is suspected to be missing. Provincial leaders and the working group went directly to the scene to direct the recovery, and at the same time, mobilized functional forces to organize the search for the missing person.

In Tham Duong commune, the delegation inspected the landslide situation at section KM38+600, the project connecting traffic in the northern mountainous provinces, in Tham Con village; and inspected the subsidence situation at Tham Duong commune Kindergarten.
After the on-site inspection, the provincial leaders requested the Van Ban district authorities to continue to concentrate human resources, material resources, and on-site equipment to promptly overcome the consequences of floods; continue to monitor weather developments, review the contents and response preparation plans with the motto "4 on-site"; support people to stabilize their lives; continue to propagate, put up warning signs in areas at risk of landslides, and divert traffic to ensure safety for people and vehicles...

As of 4:00 p.m. on September 9, floods in the area have killed 2 people; damaged 133 houses; more than 303 hectares of rice and nearly 72 hectares of corn; and 7 buffaloes were swept away by floodwaters. Floods also damaged infrastructure works on National Highway 279, Provincial Roads 151, 151B, 162, etc. Initial estimated damage is over 8.5 billion VND.
Currently, Van Ban district is focusing human resources and equipment to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
