At the ceremony, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province donated 10 billion VND to support people in the northern provinces. Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, called on businesses, people, artists, and filmmakers to share and join hands to support people in the northern provinces and cities affected by storms and floods.
This year, the 2024 Golden Kite Awards is a competition for more than 160 outstanding films, television works and research, theory and criticism works of the year. This year, there are 18 films, an increase in the number of films competing compared to last year, the films are diverse in themes and genres when exploiting family affection, the dark side of social networks, horror films inspired by folklore, horror legends, the survival battle between humans and monsters... Many new directors with their debut films have participated, bringing a new, more vibrant and youthful breeze.
Director Vu Thanh Vinh, director of the film "Hai Muoi" which won the award for best debut film, said that the indigenous culture, humanity, and beauty of Vietnamese workers have created the success of his work. Director Vu Thanh Vinh shared: "The award is a recognition, giving us more motivation to continue creating the next films. I will try to promote the indigenous values that only Vietnam has, which are the culture and inner self of the Vietnamese people. Those beauties and uniqueness must be promoted to the maximum."
With the movie Hai Muoi, Meritorious Artist Quyen Linh as Hai Muoi won the Best Actor award. The Best Actress award was given to Phuong Anh Dao, playing Mai in the movie Mai directed by Tran Thanh. The movie Mai was awarded the Golden Kite Award by the Organizing Committee for the category of Best Feature Film.
Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented the prestigious award for best feature film to actress Phuong Anh Dao, representing the crew of Mai. This is not only an entertaining film but also a strong message about the strength and ability of women to rise up. Actress Phuong Anh Dao shared that although life can be full of difficulties and challenges, faith and hope always exist, like the dawn after a storm: "Watching Mai, people feel more in it, in harmony with the character. Through that, Anh Dao feels that if there is a chance to do better, she still wants to convey it better. It is the story of a woman who goes through storms in life but always has the desire to rise up, has faith in tomorrow. Through that, it guides and leads girls whose lives have many obstacles like that."
The third time, the Vietnam Cinema Association successfully organized the Golden Kite Award Ceremony in Nha Trang city. Associate Professor, Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association, said that the large participation of films as well as authors showed that the award had a significant attraction. The award ceremony was organized on a more professional scale and aimed at gradually raising the level of Nha Trang to become a cinema city: "There have been many Vietnamese feature films that have achieved hundreds of billions in revenue and many films that delve into social psychology and family affection have been well received by the audience. That is very special. The comedy scenes in the film are the highlight, not like people used to say that comedy is nonsense. All the comedy is the development of the story, telling the story and the way of comedy must be like that".
