What's in Tran Thanh's Tet movie this year?

After a series of consecutive successes, director Tran Thanh continues to participate in the 2025 Tet film race with The Four Guardians . This will be a film with the comedy genre, right in Tran Thanh's forte.

In the first image just released, we can see 4 familiar faces appearing: Le Giang, Le Duong Bao Lam, Uyen An and Quang Trung. The title of the film suggests a group of people who "make a mess" everywhere. That is confirmed in the image with a chaotic scene, "chickens and dogs running" behind the quartet revealed for the first time. Hidden behind the motorbike are 4 faces with humorous shapes.

Sharing about the new film project, director Tran Thanh said: “This will be a group of people who have a lot of love for others and also a lot of time, “idleness breeds mischief”. Instead of helping their loved ones, the result is all “chickens and dogs running”. These ironic situations about “idleness” will open up a humorous story for the audience".

Also from his definition of the "four defenders" in the film, Tran Thanh shared his intention when returning to his forte of comedy in his fourth film.

He said Tran Thanh's laughter is not just funny jokes but hopefully will bring a new perspective to the audience about deadlocked situations, so that the audience can laugh freely during Tet.

He wants to bring joy and comfort to the audience to welcome the coming new year.

Tran Thanh is the first director in Vietnam with a revenue of over VND1,400 billion. All three of Tran Thanh's works have a total revenue of over VND1,400 billion. Of which, Bo Gia (2021) and Nha Ba Nu (2023) have revenue of VND395 billion and VND459 billion respectively. Mai currently holds the record for the highest revenue in the history of the Vietnamese box office with VND520 billion after 41 days of release, selling 6.5 million tickets. (according to Box Office Vietnam).

It is worth mentioning that Tran Thanh achieved this success after only 4 years of entering the film industry. He is considered one of the most successful filmmakers at the domestic box office.
