At this event, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong brought to the Film Festival the film "Mat Biec" by director Victor Vu, based on the novel of the same name by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh. "Mat Biec" was highly appreciated by Vietnamese and international audiences for its cinematic qualities. The film depicts many levels of emotions and life of Vietnamese people through simple, familiar and beautiful scenes, which brought success to the premiere in Hong Kong. During the nearly one-month festival, films will be screened at many cinemas across Hong Kong such as M+Cinema, Emperor Cinema, Asia Society Hong Kong Center, etc. In addition to the Vietnamese film "Mat Biec", Hong Kong film enthusiasts will have the opportunity to enjoy many films such as the Lao film "The Signal"; the Philippine film "The Missing"; the Malaysian film "Malbatt: Misi Bakara".
