At this event, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong brought to the Film Festival the film "Mat Biec" by director Victor Vu, based on the novel of the same name by writer Nguyen Nhat Anh. "Mat Biec" was highly appreciated by Vietnamese and international audiences for its cinematic qualities. The film depicts many levels of emotions and life of Vietnamese people through simple, familiar and beautiful scenes, which brought success to the premiere in Hong Kong.
The audience watched the film with great enthusiasm, feeling a certain closeness and connection to themselves. Many viewers shared that Blue Eyes reminded them of something they had experienced. The story about love, the passage of time, changes, the impact of material things, the incomprehensibility of human emotions, especially those of young people, conveyed very humane messages.
