The movie with People's Artist Le Khanh and Meritorious Artist Do Ky makes the audience disappointed and complains "boring"

The film Where Dreams Return with the participation of many veteran artists: People's Artist Le Khanh, People's Artist Trong Trinh, Meritorious Artist Do Ky and young actors: Lanh Thanh, Viet Hoa, Minh Thu... has been on air since May 2023.

The film tells the story of the suffocating family life, full of conflicts between the grandmother of CEO Lan (People's Artist Le Khanh) and her stubborn grandson Gia An (Lanh Thanh). The ideological conflicts between the two generations combined with past grievances put the two grandmothers and grandsons in a constant "confrontation" position, creating many twists in the script.

The movie "Where Dreams Come Back" did not impress the audience.

Up to now, the film has aired 15 episodes but has not received positive reviews from the audience. Based on the number of viewers and the general audience reviews through the film's fanpage, it can be seen that Where Dreams Come Back is the least attractive of the 3 films airing in the "prime time" of Vietnamese television at present.

Accordingly, the movie My Family Is Suddenly Happy has more than 31 thousand likes and is rated 4.1 stars, the movie Life Is Still Beautiful received nearly 13 thousand likes and is rated 3.8 stars while Where Dreams Come Back only received 1.4 thousand likes and is rated 3.5 stars.

Of course, the number of likes depends on the number of episodes aired, but clearly this number also shows a significant part of the film's appeal to the audience.

Viewer likes and reviews show that the film with People's Artist Le Khanh's acting is the "weakest" among the 3 films currently airing in "prime time".

In addition to the figures shown on the movie's website, comments on the movie's fanpage also show that audiences do not highly rate the movie Where Dreams Return.

The film's content was commented by many viewers as "bland" and "unrealistic": "I find the film's content boring and not educational", "The more I watch, the more bland it becomes", "The dialogue is stiff and unrealistic and also criticizes online sellers", "This film's script is absurd and has no trace of Vietnamese society"...

The acting of two veteran artists, Le Khanh and Do Ky, has not really won over the audience. Most opinions say that the two artists are not suitable for their roles: " The acting of Le Khanh and Do Ky feels unreal and unrealistic", "People's Artist Le Khanh acts in this film without emotion, the makeup is too thick and looks scary", "The film is like a play, stiff and unreal, I don't understand if the People's Artist and Meritorious Artist have used all their strength or not",...

The film's male lead also received mixed opinions.

In addition, the film's continuous postponement due to objective reasons also made the audience "discouraged". Specifically, in the first half of June 2023 alone, the film was postponed 3 times:

Episode 10 of the film was scheduled to air on June 2, 2023, but because it coincided with the live broadcast of the opening ceremony of the 2023 Da Nang Fireworks Festival , the film was postponed to the evening of June 5, 2023.

On June 9, 2023, the film continued to be postponed to make room for the live broadcast of the first National Press Awards Ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Awards).

Episode 16 of the film was scheduled to air on the evening of June 14, 2023, but because it overlapped with the live TV program Honoring Advanced Models and Responding to the Month of Action for Drug Prevention and Control , the film had to be postponed.

On the evening of June 15, 2023, VTV1's prime time slot will broadcast live the UNESCO Certificate Reception Ceremony for Cham Pottery Art and the Opening of the 2023 Ninh Thuan Grape - Wine Festival, so the film will continue to be postponed to the evening of June 16, 2023.

It can be seen that, in addition to the reason that the film was continuously postponed, the film Where Dreams Come Back could not conquer the audience because of many reasons: The content was not attractive, not realistic, and the actors' performances did not really touch the viewers' emotions.
