Despite topping the box office, the horror film "Cam" has shown signs of decline in revenue after creating controversy surrounding Tam's 18+ scene. It is likely that the film will soon be dethroned as new projects are continuously released.

Horror movies this week Bran still tops the sales charts Box Office Vietnam (independent box office observer). But contrary to expectations, the project has not been able to surpass the 100 billion VND milestone.

The film's performance has somewhat declined compared to the beginning, despite not facing many competitors. Revenue from other projects is also not high, causing the box office to show signs of being gloomy again.

Bran create a reverse effect

In its second week in theaters, the horror film Bran no longer retains the appeal of the first week of release. Statistics of Box Office Vietnam Last week's weekend revenue of the film only reached over 13.4 billion VND, down about 72% compared to last week (48 billion VND).

The project sold 153,139 tickets in 6,644 screenings with a fairly low occupancy rate, with each screening only selling an average of 22-23 tickets.

This is quite surprising because after creating a fever, the film became a hot topic of discussion on social networks. The film's coverage is still quite strong but it cannot attract audiences to the theater.

The movie Cam's revenue decreased compared to the first week of release.

Most of the comments rated the film's content low with many forced details. The screenwriter indulged in creativity, making the story sometimes become long and drawn out. The project has invested in visuals but still has some limitations in sound and editing.

In particular, the nude scene of Tam caused fierce controversy. Many comments said that the segment was redundant, had little to do with the content, and was just a promotional ploy by the crew.

When it first came out, Bran easily attracted attention because it exploited familiar fairy tales, and had many images that aroused curiosity in the audience. However, the work is creating a negative effect after the noise and criticism with signs of declining revenue.

Presently Bran still has a chance to reach the 100 billion mark this week. At the current rate, the film will likely stop at the 120-130 billion VND revenue mark, similar to Ghost before

Coming in second on the chart is an action-comedy film. I bet you can't handcuff me from Korea. The work is a sequel to Veteran – a blockbuster that rocked the box office when it was released in 2015, ranking fifth on the list of highest-grossing Korean films of all time.

The new part is still directed, produced and written by veteran filmmaker Ryoo Seung Wan. The two stars Hwang Jung Min and Jung Hae In are the faces that guarantee the success of the film, helping the work win the hearts of Vietnamese audiences.

During the three-day weekend, I bet you can't handcuff me earned more than 9.6 billion VND, just lost Bran about 3.8 billion VND. The reason the project has not been able to surpass Vietnamese horror films to hold the top position is because it has not been heavily invested in promotion and the content is not very curious.

The rankings are bleak.

Third place goes to horror movies. Ghost marriage with 3.6 billion VND. The film revolves around a famous but cold-blooded doctor who specializes in illegally collecting organs to trade for profit. One of the victims is the daughter of a shaman who has the ability to summon the souls of the dead. After discovering the truth, the shaman is determined to take revenge by asking for help from the underworld.

Ghost marriage has an interesting idea but the quality is at B level (low budget projects, new directors and actors, little known or past their prime). In Korea, the film also did not receive much attention when it only sold more than 1,195 tickets, the number of screenings was also small. Korean Film .

This week, animated blockbuster Transformers One dropped from second to fourth place on the overall chart with 3.5 billion VND, bringing the total revenue to 6.1 billion VND. This is quite a disappointing achievement for a project with a high investment budget (147 million USD) and a cast of voice actors such as Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry, Keegan-Michael Key...

The last place in the top 5 belongs to the animated film. Dolphin Boy with a revenue of more than 2.2 billion VND. The film was not widely promoted but still attracted audiences thanks to its familiar content, attracting a large audience of children and students.

Dolphin Boy has close content and eye-catching images.

In its fifth week in theaters, Get rich with ghosts was knocked out of the top 5 of Box Office Vietnam , only earned over one billion VND with 11,076 tickets in 566 screenings. Up to now, the project with Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh and Tuan Tran has earned over 123 billion VND, ranking among the highest-grossing films in the world. Vietnamese movies best seller this year

The remaining positions all had low revenue, unable to surpass the one billion VND mark, making the ranking gloomy. The theater has many films with diverse genres, but in reality, revenue only belongs to a few notable projects, with the distributor increasing the number of screenings.

This week, blockbuster Joker 2: The Last Airbender starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga will officially hit theaters, promising to change the Vietnamese box office landscape. Meanwhile, other projects are not as prominent as animated films. Wild Robot , Horror Movie Date with a Murderer , psychological film Miracle in the middle of winter night

Therefore, most likely Joker 2 will knock out Bran to take the top spot at the box office this week.
