Developing transport infrastructure for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in Bac Ai

In recent years, from central capital sources, combined capital from programs, projects, local budgets... have helped many traffic works in the mountainous district of Bac Ai to be completed and put into use, meeting the travel needs of people, promoting socio-economic development, creating an increasingly prosperous appearance of mountainous rural areas.

During a working trip to Phuoc Binh commune in mid-November, we noted the changes in a mountainous commune that used to have economic and traffic difficulties, and now has rapid and remarkable development. Since 2005, when Provincial Road 707 was upgraded, it has created momentum for the heroic land of Phuoc Binh to develop. Local authorities and Party committees have focused on leading the exploitation of potentials and strengths to promote the conversion of crop structure to help people get rich. Thanks to convenient transportation, Phuoc Binh commune has developed crops with high economic value such as cashew, green-skin pomelo, durian, rambutan, mangosteen..., with an area of over 1,800 hectares. Mr. Nguyen Manh Nghia in Bac Ray 2 village excitedly said: Previously, local traffic was difficult, so agricultural products were not sold at a good price and were difficult to sell. Now that the state has invested in the complete roads, the distance between the lowlands and the mountains has been shortened, thereby increasing the price of agricultural products, traders come to the fields and gardens to buy, helping people increase their income and develop their family economy. Mr. Tran Dai Luyen, the owner of an agricultural product purchasing facility in Bac Ray 1 village, said: My family purchases agricultural products locally and transports them to Phan Rang and Khanh Hoa province for consumption. Previously, the traffic was difficult and it took more than 2 hours to travel to the city center, but now traveling and transporting goods by car is easier, so we can purchase more and it is convenient to travel to consume agricultural products.

The inter-commune road of Phuoc Dai - Phuoc Tan is concreted, creating favorable conditions for people to develop production.

In addition to the upgraded Provincial Road 707, Bac Ai district also has National Highway 27B, Provincial Road 705 and inter-commune roads Phuoc Dai - Phuoc Tan, inter-district and inter-commune roads such as Xuan Hai (Ninh Hai) - Phuoc Trung, Luong Son (Ninh Son) - Phuoc Hoa - Phuoc Binh (Bac Ai), Phuoc Dai - Phuoc Trung, Phuoc Dai - Phuoc Thanh... and many other inter-village roads that have created a relatively complete traffic network, meeting the needs of transporting goods and traveling of people in and outside the region, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and national defense and security in the district. Comrade Mau Thai Phuong, Secretary of Bac Ai District Party Committee, said: The investment in traffic infrastructure in the district in recent times has brought a new look, new vitality, creating favorable conditions for traveling and transporting goods. In particular, after more than 2 years (2021-2023) of implementing the national target program for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas, it has contributed to gradually solving pressing problems of social life. Socio-economic infrastructure in rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas continues to be invested and upgraded in a synchronous manner, especially essential infrastructure serving production and people's lives, thereby contributing to changing the face of many rural and mountainous areas. Creating conditions for people to participate in program activities, increasing income through job creation in investing in essential infrastructure works in the district.
