Promoting the role of the Provincial Business Association in promoting production and consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products

Within the framework of the Conference on displaying and introducing safe agricultural and food products of Thanh Hoa province in 2024, on the morning of October 25, the Provincial Business Association coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to organize a workshop on "The role of the Provincial Business Association in promoting production and consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products of Thanh Hoa province".

Attending and directing the conference were comrade Le Duc Giang, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of associations, enterprises, cooperatives, production and trading establishments of agricultural products and food in the province.

Thanh Hoa currently has more than 38,000 registered enterprises, of which more than 21,000 are operating and generating revenue. Thanh Hoa enterprises operate in a variety of fields such as industry, agriculture, construction, transportation, trade, tourism, healthcare, education, etc. After 5 years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, Thanh Hoa province now has 531 OCOP products and has risen to the 3rd position nationwide in terms of the number of OCOP products.

Over the years, Thanh Hoa Provincial Business Association has made a significant contribution to connecting businesses in the province in production, business and product consumption, contributing greatly to the economic development and social security of the province. The Association has successfully organized 7 trade promotion delegations in 3 regions: North - Central - South, including 7 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, Vung Tau, Can Tho and Binh Dinh, creating many healthy playgrounds for businessmen and businesses to exchange, meet, learn experiences in construction, operation and development.

Speaking at the workshop, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Business Association Cao Tien Doan emphasized: The workshop aims to increase the connection between production, business and consumption establishments of agricultural products and foodstuffs inside and outside the province. Thereby, forming a link between production - supply and consumption of safe agricultural products and foodstuffs, OCOP products. Contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products, building brands and expanding the market for agricultural products and foodstuffs of Thanh Hoa province.

Discussing at the workshop, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying issues related to the role of the Provincial Business Association in promoting the production and consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products of Thanh Hoa province. Thereby, pointing out the difficulties, obstacles as well as solutions for agricultural products, OCOP products and many potential products of Thanh Hoa province to reach the markets of provinces and cities nationwide and the world.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang said: Enterprises producing agricultural products in the province are mainly small and medium-sized enterprises, with low financial capacity and professionalism in production and business, uneven, and not many branded products. In addition, the application of information technology or digital applications in production and business is still limited...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that through this conference, the Provincial Business Association will have more practical and effective activities to support businesses operating in the agricultural sector, promote production, business, product consumption, and build the brand of Thanh Hoa agricultural products.
