On January 20, the Hanoi Youth Union organized a review of the Youth Union's work and the youth and children's movement in the capital in 2024, deployed tasks for 2025; and awarded press awards for writing about the Youth Union's work and the youth and children's movement in the capital in 2024.
Attending the program were Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students' Association Nguyen Minh Triet; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong.
Reporting on the results of activities in 2024, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Chu Hong Minh said that in 2024, implementing the theme of "Year of Youth Volunteers", the youth of the capital successfully implemented 10/10 annual work targets, of which 2 targets were completed and 8 targets were exceeded. The entire Union carried out 2,754 youth projects and tasks with a total value of nearly 58 billion VND.
Notably, during the year, more than 1.6 million youth union members participated in volunteer activities carried out by the Youth Union. In particular, the “Green Summer” Campaign, with the spirit of keeping the “Three Ready” flame burning, attracted 339 teams and 16,031 volunteers to participate, deployed in 31 provinces and cities.

Speaking at the program, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association Nguyen Minh Triet praised the achievements and proposed that in 2025, the Hanoi Youth Union chapters, as well as more than 3 million young people in the capital, would substantively and creatively realize the 2025 working theme of the entire union: "Vietnamese youth are proud and firmly believe in following the Party".
At the same time, it is important to note that the City Youth Union at all levels needs to select projects, tasks as well as urgent and prominent issues of Hanoi to volunteer to undertake and mobilize union members and youth to participate in effectively implementing programs and activities. In particular, it is necessary to continue to digitally transform the activities of the Union in all fields of work; digitally transform propaganda and education work, grasp the ideological developments, aspirations and wishes of union members and youth.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong acknowledged, commended and congratulated the results achieved by the City Youth Union and affirmed that Hanoi youth union members have made many important contributions to the overall results of the capital in 2024.
Emphasizing that 2025 is the final year of the term and will host Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee noted that 2025, the first year of the 14th Party Congress, is identified as a milestone bringing the country into a new era, an era of national growth, with the goal of prosperous development, wealth, happy people, and successful construction of socialism. In the assigned tasks, the City Youth Union needs to clearly understand its responsibilities in the new historical period.
According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, the City Youth Union at all levels needs to promote the potential, creativity, strength and responsibility of all youth classes in the new development stage, with many activities related to the strengths of the youth. In particular, it is necessary to make breakthroughs in developing science and technology, innovation of the city's youth; widely disseminate youth works and tasks, demonstrating the responsibility and aspirations of the youth towards the country and the Capital.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that in 2025, the task of the Youth Union is to attract youth union members, create a favorable environment for youth to train and contribute to the common goal of building the capital and the country. Therefore, the responsibility of the City Youth Union needs to be further enhanced; greater efforts and determination are needed to create favorable conditions for the capital's youth to contribute more and more effectively to the development of the capital Hanoi in the new era - the era of strong and prosperous development of the nation.
In recognition of the contributions of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi over the past 25 years, the President decided to award the Third Class Labor Medal to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi.
