Leveraging the strengths of the platform industry

The chemical industry is identified as one of the fundamental industries, making an important contribution to the industrialization and modernization of the country. In the province, the chemical industry has a relatively diverse structure, including major production areas such as basic chemicals, consumer chemicals, fertilizers, and pharmaceuticals.

Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company continuously launches new fertilizer products towards developing organic agriculture and green agriculture.

The whole province has nearly 200 enterprises involved in chemical activities, including 7 chemical manufacturing enterprises, 26 industrial chemical trading enterprises, and over 100 enterprises using chemicals as raw materials for industrial production activities...

The chemical industry in the province maintains the production of products that are its traditional strengths and is researching the development of high-tech chemical products and chemicals to serve the needs of other industries such as pharmaceuticals and food. Following the development trend of the chemical industry applying modern technology, aiming at green growth and circular economy , many enterprises in the province have actively innovated technology, advanced equipment and safety factors, protecting the environment. At the same time, focusing on applying topics, initiatives, and developing new products according to market demand.

Viet Tri Chemical Joint Stock Company specializes in the production of basic chemicals. In 2023, the Company's production output reached over 56,000 tons of caustic soda, nearly 123,000 tons of hydrochloric acid, over 4,600 tons of liquid chlorine, 41,200 tons of javen... Last year, the Company implemented a project to invest in a production line of disinfectants for water sources for daily life and aquaculture from domestically available raw materials, with a capacity of 9,000 tons/year, equivalent to 30 tons/day, and was put into operation in the second quarter of 2024. The line creates a closed production line, increases the capacity of the caustic soda production line, and increases production and business efficiency.

In the chemical industry, many products with potential and comparative advantages continue to be innovated in technology, improving product quality in the direction of green chemistry and organic fertilizers suitable for the needs of clean agriculture.

Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company specializes in the production and trading of fertilizers and chemicals. In 2023, the Company's total fertilizer output will reach over 795,000 tons, and sulfuric acid over 136,300 tons. Mr. Tran Dai Nghia - Deputy General Director of the Company said: "The Company's goal is to maintain and develop traditional products, research and apply advanced and modern science and technology, develop new products suitable for new trends, serving agriculture and industry; continue to expand, invest, and develop other production and business sectors in which the Company has advantages. Determining that production and business are closely linked to environmental protection, in recent times, the Company has invested in projects such as automatic emission monitoring systems, wastewater treatment and recovery systems for reuse; strictly manage occupational safety and hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention".

Plan No. 4602/KH-UBND dated November 15, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee on the development of the chemical industry of Phu Tho province in the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2040, sets the goal of developing the chemical industry with a focus and key points towards sustainable development, modern technology, and environmental friendliness; especially creating products with potential, advantages, and competitiveness. In particular, with the main sub-sectors such as chemical products for industry, industrial gases, chemical products for agricultural production (mainly fertilizers), pharmaceutical products, electrochemistry, and consumer chemical products, specific plans and goals are set for each stage. To effectively implement the contents of the plan, synchronous solutions are proposed including: Mechanisms, policies; science and technology; human resources and human resource training; environment.

Effective implementation of solutions will contribute to building the chemical industry in the direction of expansion, new investment, modernization, and playing the role of a key industry of the province.
