The contest is organized by the Office of the National Steering Committee for Overcoming the Consequences of Post-War Bombs, Mines and Toxic Chemicals in Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam National Mine Action Center.
Identify types of bombs and mines |
According to statistics, Vietnam has about 600,000 - 800,000 tons of bombs, mines and explosives left over from the war, which have been threatening the safety of every family. 50 years after the war, there have been about 100,000 victims of explosives, of which 40,000 died and 60,000 were disabled.
Although mine clearance work has been carried out regularly over the years, every year thousands of tons of mines and bombs continue to rise up underground, threatening to take away human life or body parts.
Stay away when detecting bombs and mines. |
The contest aims to continue to promote and raise awareness of post-war bomb and mine accidents in Vietnam to all classes of people. The contest is also a meaningful and practical activity in response to the World Mine Awareness Day and Mine Action Day on April 4; to reduce mine and explosive accidents; towards Vietnam no longer being affected by post-war bombs and mines, serving the country's economic and social development.
