Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Quang Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that the development of digital technology brings with it the risk of online fraud.
Online fraud is happening right before our eyes, not only in Vietnam but also worldwide. Online fraudsters are becoming more and more sophisticated in changing their methods, taking full advantage of new technology.
According to Mr. Hung, this year's theme emphasizes "skills", the Information Security Department focuses on equipping each person with the ability to protect themselves and their families from fraud.
Mr. Tran Quang Hung emphasized that the responsibility of ensuring information security and preventing online fraud is not only the responsibility of state agencies, but also requires the cooperation and companionship of businesses, platforms and each citizen.
Representative of TikTok Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh also said that in Vietnam, this platform has more than 3 million sellers, 30 million buyers, not to mention users viewing content; these are customers who are easily manipulated and scammed.
In addition to improving technology and providing optimal technological solutions to protect users, TikTok is committed to strengthening cooperation with state agencies to carry out meaningful community campaigns and raise awareness of online fraud.
“We call for the cooperation of professional content creators, who are influencers on social networks, to build content to identify and prevent online fraud. The information disseminated in the skill manual developed by the Information Security Department will be simplified by content creators, creating a great spread,” said Mr. Lam Thanh.
