On March 24 in Hanoi, the Central Youth Union, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and IIG Vietnam Education Organization jointly organized the opening ceremony of the ACP World Championship 2024.
Throughout 7 seasons, the Central Youth Union hopes to create a useful intellectual playground for youth union members to improve their information technology capacity, application and creativity on digital platforms, thereby promoting their pioneering role in the national digital transformation.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the national qualifying round of the competition took place simultaneously in all three regions in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. The round gathered nearly 250 excellent candidates selected from 60 teams of high schools, intermediate schools, colleges, universities and academies across the country.
According to the organizers, this year the number of teams has nearly doubled compared to last year. This shows the appeal and spread of the 2024 World Graphic Design Championship to a large number of young people who love graphic design nationwide. Of which, high school students account for 45%, college candidates account for 33% and university students account for 22%.
According to the rules, the competition is divided into three groups: Group A for universities and academies, Group B for colleges and intermediate schools, and Group C for high schools and middle schools.
After passing the national qualifying round, the five best contestants from each group will advance to the national final round to select three contestants as ACP Vietnam ambassadors to attend the world final round taking place at the end of July in the US.
Coming to the international arena, the three contestants will compete with hundreds of contestants from countries and territories to win world gold, silver and bronze medals with prizes of 8,000 USD, 4,000 USD and 2,000 USD respectively.
In addition, the national champions will be awarded the "Creative Youth" badge by the Central Youth Union.
The World Graphic Design Championship is an annual competition held since 2013 to find the top design professionals using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign software.
The competition is for students aged 13-22 on a global scale and attracts hundreds of thousands of contestants from nearly 70 countries and territories each year.
After 6 seasons, the Vietnamese team participating in the world finals has won 1 bronze medal, 2 world's most voted audience awards, and three world top 10 positions.
