Information from the Military Technical Academy, the unit has just launched the Robocon competition to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024). With the theme "Proud of history - Bright future", the organizers hope to promote to generations of cadres, teachers, staff, students, non-commissioned officers - soldiers and students of the Military Technical Academy about the heroic historical tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, about the campaigns and battles that have made history and are the pride of our army in 80 years of construction and growth. At the same time, it demonstrates the determination to build a lean, strong, modern Vietnam People's Army in the new era, ready to fight to protect every inch of land, sea and sky of the Fatherland. Major General Mai Quang Huy - Deputy Director of the Military Technical Academy - said that the Robocon competition is aimed at students of the academy and technical universities and colleges who are young, enthusiastic, and passionate about robots. Thereby, creating a vibrant playground for students to exchange, learn and master technology, encourage and promote scientific and technical creativity, contributing to promoting the development of Vietnam's automation industry. The new point of this year's competition is that historical events will be used in the 2024 Robocon competition, including the Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1954 and the Dien Bien Phu in the air campaign in 1972. According to the competition rules, each team registered to participate in the competition will design and manufacture two competing robots: ROBOT-M (semi-automatic robot controlled by hand) and ROBOT-A (automatic robot). The robots of the teams must perform two tasks in sequence: completely destroying the bases in the Dien Bien Phu campaign and destroying mobile targets (flying targets) in the Dien Bien Phu campaign in the air.
