Dengue fever is an infectious disease caused by Aedes mosquitoes, seriously affecting people's health, especially children and the elderly. Although the number of cases has decreased slightly compared to last year, the risk of an outbreak is very high, especially after the storm season and heavy rains.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, from the beginning of the year to the end of September 2024, the whole country recorded nearly 80,000 cases and 12 deaths due to dengue fever.

The “JUMBO VAPE - Joining hands to prevent dengue fever” campaign in 2024 will continue to be deployed on a larger scale. Workshops with the participation of doctors and medical experts will provide knowledge on recognizing, preventing and treating dengue fever.

In addition to the seminars, doctors will go directly to each neighborhood to instruct people on how to prevent dengue fever and help them apply the most effective measures to protect their health.

In addition, the campaign also calls on the community to take simple but effective preventive measures such as killing mosquitoes, killing larvae, sleeping under mosquito nets, keeping the living environment clean and promoting the message: "No mosquitoes - No larvae - No dengue fever".

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung shared: "As a professional advisor accompanying the campaign for the past 14 years, I always feel proud to see this campaign growing and spreading strongly.

Dengue fever is not only a health problem but also a major challenge in the national epidemic prevention work. Therefore, raising public awareness and providing effective prevention solutions are extremely important. I hope that through the campaign activities, we will continue to protect the health of people, especially children and the elderly, who are most vulnerable to this epidemic."

Over the past 14 years, the program has been implemented in many provinces and cities across the country, with more than 9 million people directly receiving knowledge and millions of people through other media channels.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuoc - Senior Sales and Marketing Director of Fumakilla Vietnam, said: "We are very proud to accompany the Women's Union and agencies and organizations in the campaign to prevent dengue fever.

As a pioneer in implementing the project to join hands to prevent dengue fever for people in Vietnam, we have received a lot of positive feedback, that this campaign has helped millions of Vietnamese people to be more aware of the risks of dengue fever, and at the same time equipped them with effective preventive measures, which is a great motivation for us and leading medical experts to maintain this meaningful project for 14 years and will continue this sustainable activity in the future."
