Speaking at the Ceremony to honor and award the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer and commend outstanding cooperatives nationwide in 2024 on the evening of October 14, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated: There must be new thinking, new ways of doing things, new determination, encouragement, support, and creating conditions for more good production and business households, successful agricultural cooperatives, to act as the core to participate in socio-economic development in rural areas across the country, especially in difficult mountainous areas and areas with large ethnic minorities.
Chairman of the National Assembly I hope that the exemplary individuals and collectives that are honored will continue to take the lead in cooperation and association in production and business; continue to contribute their strength and intelligence, impart their experiences, support and help many others so that more farmers can become rich legitimately, more agricultural cooperatives can succeed and develop, and together with the community, achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction.
Taking farmers as the subject and center
At the ceremony held on the occasion of the 94th Anniversary Vietnam Farmers' Union Founding Day (October 14, 1930 - October 14, 2024), the National Assembly Chairman reiterated President Ho Chi Minh's instruction: "If our farmers are rich, our country will be rich. If our agriculture is prosperous, our country will be prosperous"; and emphasized: Uncle Ho's instruction has been and is being realized in rural areas across all regions of the country and that is always a regular political task of our Party and State.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that Resolution No. 19 of the 5th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural areas to 2030 and vision to 2045 clearly stated: Farmers are the subject and center of the process of agricultural development, rural economy and new rural construction, thereby setting out the requirements and goals: farmers and rural residents develop comprehensively, civilized, have high qualifications and income; the role, position, capacity to master, material and spiritual life are raised; the countryside is stable, rich in national cultural identity, the people's knowledge is improved, the ecological environment is protected, the countryside is modern, the farmers are civilized.
The National Assembly Chairman said that the honoring and awarding of the title of Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer and the recognition of Typical Cooperatives in 2024 have many innovations and creativity with the spirit of taking farmers as the subject and center.
After listening to the report and watching the documentary, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man praised and congratulated the Vietnam Farmers' Union for continuously growing and maturing, making worthy contributions to the revolutionary cause and development of the country.
The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the results of the "Farmers' movement to compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" which took place in a rich and exciting manner, bringing many practical results.
The advanced models honored today are the most outstanding representatives among millions of farmers nationwide, real people, real deeds, achieving excellent results in production, business, in the movement to build new rural areas, sustainable poverty reduction, the movement of the whole people to protect national security; having initiatives and inventions that have been applied and brought high efficiency in practice.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the National Assembly Chairman warmly commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, each cadre, farmer member and agricultural cooperative nationwide.
Considering that our country is facing many opportunities and advantages but also has to face many difficulties and challenges that must be overcome; the National Assembly Chairman noted that Farmers' Associations at all levels need to continue to promote information, propaganda, and widespread dissemination of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.
The National Assembly Chairman proposed to thoroughly grasp the spirit in the closing speech of General Secretary and President To Lam at the 10th Conference of the 13th Party Central Committee: unanimously identifying the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress as the highest goal of the entire Party, people and army in 2025.
High determination, great effort
In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman suggested a number of key contents, accordingly: Farmers' Associations at all levels focus on guiding members and farmers to apply digital technology, build ecological agricultural production models, green agriculture; organic, circular, smart agriculture; agriculture combined with industry, agriculture combined with services, creating many safe, high-quality agricultural products to be competitive in domestic and world markets; build, develop and preserve product brands and consumer markets.
Another important content mentioned by the National Assembly Chairman is: Farmers' Associations at all levels regularly pay attention to farmers' aspirations, grasp the reality to provide timely support, especially to localities that have suffered heavy damage caused by recent natural disasters; create motivation to exploit and promote the potential and strengths of each locality and the internal strength of each family; at the same time create a favorable environment for intellectuals, scientists, and businessmen to stand side by side with the peasant class in the cause of industrialization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
With the tradition of 94 years of construction and growth, the Party and State believe that the patriotic emulation movement and activities of the Vietnam Farmers' Union will achieve more practical results, the Vietnamese peasant class will continue to be confident, self-reliant, proactive, creative, and actively contribute to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, bringing our country into a new era, an era of national growth.

The National Assembly Chairman requested Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels to continue to pay more attention and have practical and effective solutions for agricultural development, building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas; create more favorable conditions for the Vietnam Farmers' Association at all levels to operate effectively with the motto "people know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise, people benefit".
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan emphasized: Outstanding Vietnamese farmers and typical cooperatives have made important contributions to the results of restructuring the agricultural sector towards quality and efficiency, forming a multi-value production chain, contributing to promoting economic growth, building new rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction.
Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Luong Quoc Doan affirmed: The organization of honoring outstanding Vietnamese Farmers and praising typical Cooperatives is to honor the will of self-reliance, self-reliance, talent and creativity of farmers who have devoted themselves to the cause of agricultural development, building new rural areas, and building a strong Vietnamese peasant class. The program "Pride of Vietnamese Farmers" creates a strong spread of "New Model of Farmers; New-style Cooperatives" with 5 criteria: New awareness; new knowledge; new consciousness; new determination and high income contributing to realizing the Party's Resolution, realizing the aspiration of building a prosperous and happy country...
