Associate Professor born in 1980 was appointed Vice President of Hanoi National University

Decision No. 767/QD-TTg signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha appoints Mr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, to hold the position of Vice President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The new Vice President of Hanoi National University, Dao Thanh Truong, was born in 1980 in Hai Phong.

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong has a high level of theory, a professional qualification of PhD in Sociology in 2010 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and was appointed to the position of Associate Professor of Sociology in 2016.

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong is an expert in the field of policy research and analysis; science, technology and innovation management. With his contributions to training and developing human resources in science and technology management, building and developing postgraduate training programs in science and technology management in Vietnam.

He received the Medal "For the cause of science and technology" from the Ministry of Science and Technology (2017), and a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2020).

Mr. Dao Thanh Truong has held many important leadership and management positions such as: Head of the Department of Science and Technology Management, Head of the Faculty of Management Science, Director of the Institute of Policy and Management (Key Research Center of VNU); Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and Head of the Executive Board of the Scientists' Club, VNU.

Currently, the structure of VNU has the director, Prof. Dr. Le Quan. Four deputy directors include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Son and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu.
