Petrolimex affirms its stature as a major petroleum group

In the jubilant atmosphere welcoming the new year 2025, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) celebrated its 69th anniversary (January 12, 1956 - January 12, 2025). Through its formation and development, Petrolimex has affirmed its stature as a leading state-owned enterprise in supplying and stabilizing the petroleum market, ensuring national energy security. In addition, Petrolimex is determined to strongly transform digitally and greenly to accompany the country into a new era of development.

Representatives of ministries, branches and Petrolimex activated the solution to issue electronic invoices immediately after each sale at Petrolimex gas stations nationwide.

On January 12, Petrolimex leaders said that the unit is the largest downstream petroleum enterprise in Vietnam, playing a key role in supplying petroleum to the whole country with a distribution system of more than 5,000 petroleum stations, accounting for 50% of the market share, reserving 70% of the total national reserves, owning 50% of the pairs of rest stops on the North-South highway, ... along with the largest system of storage tanks, petroleum pipelines, supply chains, and logistics in the country.

In the context of the complicated world situation in the past year, with strong fluctuations in commodity prices and freight rates, slow recovery of the global economy, etc., the Group and its member units are always determined and unanimous in implementing drastic, synchronous, flexible and quickly adaptable solutions to promptly and adequately supply gasoline for economic development and people's consumption needs even when heavily affected by natural disasters, storms and floods, or when the market fluctuates abnormally.

For example, proactively responding to the impact of storm No. 3 (Yagi), ensuring uninterrupted gasoline supply. Or in 2022, when gas stations outside the system had a supply cut off, closed or sold in small quantities, Petrolimex gas stations were open 24/7 to meet social consumption needs.

“The difficult times have affirmed Petrolimex’s role as a leading state-owned enterprise in the petroleum sector, strictly following the direction of the Government, ministries and branches in petroleum management, giving top priority to ensuring sources to serve people’s consumption needs, promptly responding to the economy and energy security,” emphasized Petrolimex General Director Dao Nam Hai.

Also according to Petrolimex leaders, last year, the Group focused on implementing key infrastructure projects such as completing the upgrade of brand identity at the gas station system to ensure unity, synchronization, efficiency, consistency and actively support sales activities; focusing resources on investing in rest stops on the eastern North-South expressway and regional expressways and expressways; continuing to implement the truck service station project as planned,...

Petrolimex also set a target of carbon neutrality by 2026 and made specific steps such as: measuring _CO2 emissions throughout the system according to Decision 01/2022/QD TTg of the Prime Minister; signing a technical assistance cooperation program to promote the energy transition plan with the Global Energy Alliance for People and the Planet (GEAPP); successfully organizing a program to distribute 2,300 water filters to households lacking clean water in Lao Cai, Ha Giang and Yen Bai provinces, etc.

At the same time, actively deploy research activities and apply digital transformation. From July 1, 2023, pioneered the implementation of the solution of issuing electronic invoices immediately after each sale at the Petrolimex gas station system nationwide. Petrolimex is also the first large economic group in Vietnam to successfully apply the ERP enterprise resource management solution for the entire Group.

Besides production and business activities, Petrolimex always pays attention to and actively participates in social security work with support amounts up to hundreds of billions of VND each year.

In 2024, the Group spent more than 364 billion VND on activities to support hunger eradication, poverty reduction, improving the quality of education, supporting policy families, etc. Of which, 217 billion VND was spent on building and repairing temporary and dilapidated houses, helping families with housing difficulties (equivalent to more than 4,300 houses nationwide).

All of these gestures affirm the social responsibility that Petrolimex is jointly carrying out, imbued with humanity in Petrolimex's corporate culture, creating sustainable development, to go further for the Vietnam National Petroleum Group.
