(Dan Tri) - Former US President Donald Trump said that if he is re-elected, he will give influential positions in the government to billionaire Elon Musk as well as his former opponent Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Asked at a campaign rally in Arizona on October 31 whether Kennedy or Musk could become key figures in his administration if he is re-elected on November 5, former President Donald Trump said he intended to do so.
However, he noted, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk does not want to do secretarial work and instead wants to focus on finding ways to reduce waste in government spending.
"He thinks he can cut $2 trillion without hurting anybody and I believe he can do it. He wants to cut costs, he wants to save the country," Trump said.
Despite initially claiming to be politically neutral, Musk officially endorsed Trump earlier this year and became a key figure in the former president's campaign. Trump promised to create a special "government efficiency" committee, called DOGE, headed by the billionaire.
Referring to Mr. Kennedy, the nephew of the late President John F. Kennedy, Mr. Trump said he wanted the former Democrat to work on health care. Mr. Kennedy had previously run as an independent candidate but ultimately decided to drop out and endorse Mr. Trump.
Earlier this week, Kennedy himself confirmed that former President Trump had promised him a role in the administration, even if he did not head any government agencies. He could play a role in personnel selection as a senior adviser.
Mr Trump's transition co-chair, Howard Lutnic, also said Mr Kennedy would not head the Department of Health and Human Services if the Republican candidate was re-elected.
Earlier, Donald Trump also welcomed Mr. Kennedy as an advocate for the health of American families and children. Mr. Trump affirmed that he would establish a panel of leading experts to work with Mr. Kennedy to investigate children's health.
