Mr. Nguyen Van The, former Minister of Transport, was proposed to be disciplined.

According to the announcement on the afternoon of November 13, at the 50th session (November 11-13), the Central Inspection Committee found that the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport for the 2021-2026 term violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lacked responsibility, loosened leadership and direction, allowing the ministry and many organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations and State laws in organizing the implementation of bid packages and projects implemented by Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company.

Some cadres and party members, including key cadres of the Ministry, violated Party regulations and State laws on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, and violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

"The above violations have caused serious consequences, risking huge losses of state money and assets, causing bad public opinion, reducing the reputation of party organizations and state management agencies, to the point of requiring disciplinary action," the statement said.

Personal responsibility for the above violations and shortcomings belongs to Mr. Nguyen Van The, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies, former Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Transport; Mr. Le Dinh Tho, former Deputy Minister of Transport and a number of other party organizations and party members.

The Central Inspection Committee proposed that competent authorities consider and discipline the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Transport for the 2021-2026 term and Mr. Nguyen Van The.

The Central Inspection Committee decided to expel from the Party Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Party Secretary, Director of Project Management Board 4; Mr. Vu Hai Tung, Party Secretary, Head of the Road Construction Investment Management Department.

Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Van, Deputy Director of Construction Investment Management, former Party Secretary, Director of Project Management Board 85; Phan Duy Khanh, Head of Planning - Synthesis Department; Vuong Dinh Kieu, Deputy Head of Technical - Appraisal Department, Project Management Board 6, former Head of Planning - Technical Department, Project Management Board 4, were dismissed from all positions in the Party.

The Party Committees of the Vietnam Road Administration, Project Management Board 4, Project Management Board 85 for the 2020-2025 term; the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board for the 2015-2020 term; the Party Committee of the Road Construction Investment Management Sub-Department for the 2022-2025 term and the individuals Lam Van Hoang, Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Vietnam Expressway Administration; Nguyen Xuan Anh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Road Administration; Nguyen Thanh Hoai, Director of Project Management Board 85 were warned.

The Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport for the 2020-2025 term; the Party Committees of the Department of Construction Investment Management, the Ministry Inspectorate for the 2020-2025 term and Mr. Le Dinh Tho; Le Quyet Tien, Director of the Department of Construction Investment Management; Bui Quang Thai, Director of the Vietnam Road Administration; Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Director of the Transport Department were reprimanded.

In addition, 14 other related party members were disciplined. The Central Inspection Agency requested the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Transport to promptly correct violations and shortcomings; coordinate in directing the review, consideration, and handling of responsibilities of party organizations and party members who committed violations.

VCCI President reprimanded

At this session, the Central Inspection Committee reprimanded the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) for the 2015-2020 term and Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman; Vice Chairmen Hoang Quang Phong, Vo Tan Thanh, Bui Trung Nghia; Phan Hong Giang, Head of the Party Committee's Organization Committee, Deputy General Secretary, Chief of the Party Committee's Office, Head of the Organization - Personnel Department of VCCI.

The Central Inspection Commission disciplined 8 party organizations and 4 other party members involved; proposed that competent authorities consider disciplining the VCCI Party Delegation for the 2015-2020 and 2021-2026 terms.

Former Chairman of Southern Food Corporation proposed for disciplinary action

After reviewing the report on the proposed disciplinary action against a party member who violated the rules at the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee, the Central Inspection Committee found that Mr. Tran Van Ven, during his tenure as Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Members of the Southern Food Corporation, had degraded in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, violating regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

Mr. Ven also violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and tasks, and in land management and use. The above violations "caused very serious consequences, outraged public opinion, and negatively affected the reputation of the Party organization and the agency and unit he worked for." Therefore, the Central Inspection Committee requested that competent authorities consider and discipline Mr. Tran Van Ven.

In June 2023, Mr. Ven was arrested to investigate the crime of violating regulations on management and use of state assets causing loss and waste, with allegations of land-related violations.
