Securities giant SSI was fined and had to pay back more than 7 billion VND

(NLDO) - SSI Securities Company has paid to the state budget more than 7.33 billion VND in back taxes, fines and late tax payment fees.


SSI Securities Corporation (stock code: SSI) has just sent a document to the State Securities Commission, Vietnam Stock Exchange, Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, and Hanoi Stock Exchange regarding the payment to the state budget of more than VND 7.33 billion in back taxes, fines, and late tax payment fees.

Regarding SSI, recently, this securities company reported that it had successfully raised VND2,260 billion from offering nearly 151 million SSI shares to existing shareholders at a price of VND15,000/share, at a ratio of 100:10 (shareholders holding 100 shares will be able to buy 10 new shares).

In the market, SSI Securities Company is one of the "giants" of the securities industry.

Regarding business performance, SSI Securities Company's separate financial report for the third quarter of 2024 recorded total revenue and pre-tax profit of VND 1,994 and VND 937 billion, up 5% and 11% respectively over the same period in 2023.

SSI estimates consolidated revenue will reach VND2,076 billion and pre-tax profit will reach VND979 billion. In the first 9 months of the year, the company is estimated to have achieved VND6,452 billion in total revenue and VND2,981 billion in pre-tax profit, completing 80% and 88% of the 2024 plan, respectively.

In each field alone, the securities service segment recorded revenue of nearly VND905 billion, accounting for 45% of total revenue.

By the end of the third quarter, SSI's total assets reached over VND65,300 billion, down nearly 5% compared to the beginning of the year. Of which, FVTPL assets and outstanding loans accounted for the largest proportions, with VND37,000 billion and VND19,400 billion, respectively.

Regarding liabilities, SSI has slightly reduced its debt to nearly VND42,000 billion, of which the majority is short-term loans with a value of about VND39,300 billion.

On the market, at the end of the trading session on November 22, SSI shares decreased slightly by 1% compared to the previous session, down to VND24,350/share. Compared to a month ago, this stock decreased by about 9% and compared to the beginning of the year, it decreased by nearly 5%.
