Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen wants Cam Ranh Airport to be like Singapore's Changi Airports.
Under the agreement, over the next five years, Cam Ranh Airport will cooperate with Changi Airports International to improve passenger experience at Cam Ranh International Airport, as well as promote revenue growth at this terminal.
Cam Ranh International Airport will apply automatic check-in and VAT refund technology... in the next few years, like Changi Airport (Singapore) - the 7th busiest airport in the world.
This is the content of the contract for non-aviation service business management and international flight route development signed between Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company (CRTC) and Changi Airports International (CAI), on the sidelines of Singapore Airshow 2024, in Singapore.
The first important contract was signed within the framework of cooperation between CAI and Legacy Infrastructure (Legacy).
Cam Ranh International Airport is owned by Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen as the major shareholder. Under the agreement, over the next 5 years, CRTC will cooperate with CAI to improve the passenger experience at Cam Ranh International Airport, as well as promote revenue growth of this terminal.
Changi Airport (Singapore) has been ranked by Skytrax as one of the world's top airports for more than ten consecutive years. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Changi welcomed more than 68 million passengers and was the 7th busiest airport in the world.
Therefore, by cooperating with CAI - the investor and manager of Changi Airport, Cam Ranh International Terminal will have the opportunity to develop advanced technologies, such as automatic check-in, immigration and VAT refund systems.
According to Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, when competing internationally, Vietnam must develop and have airports like Changi.

Cam Ranh International Terminal opened in July 2018 and welcomed 6.5 million passengers in 2019 - before the pandemic. Currently, more than 30 airlines operate here, connecting Nha Trang to more than 100 destinations around the world. This is also the fourth busiest airport in Vietnam.
However, the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war have had a major impact, causing a drop in passenger traffic at the station. This has also slowed down many of CRTC's plans in recent years.
CRTC said that joining hands with the Singaporean airport giant will help Cam Ranh International Terminal connect with many major airports around the world and attract more foreign partners. Passengers will also experience green, modern spaces and resting places. In the coming time, Cam Ranh International Airport aims to welcome 8-10 million passengers per year.
Right in the first days of 2024, Cam Ranh airport has cooperated with 3 new airlines, creating a new destination for potential tourist markets from Europe and Asia.
While Changi Airport is famous for its top-notch amenities such as developing a duty-free shopping mall with a series of specialized retail stores, offering products from fashion to cosmetics, electronics and souvenirs, allowing passengers to shop comfortably and enjoy duty-free policies before boarding the plane, the Jewel Changi amusement park is described as "a jungle within an airport".
Mr. Hong Dijun, General Director of Legacy, said that after a thorough research process in the region, Legacy Group has identified Vietnam as a key, strategic market in the general region. The company is determined to contribute to Vietnam's rapid growth with plans for four large-scale infrastructure projects by the end of this year, with a total investment value of more than 2 billion USD. The first of these four projects is the cooperation with IPPG in the aviation sector.
