Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen auctioned 3 paintings worth 2.4 billion VND to raise charity funds.

The end of September marked a brilliant night of celebration for the diplomatic and business community in Ho Chi Minh City, with a fundraising dinner event themed "Together to be stronger".

At the party, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen - Chairman of IPPG successfully auctioned 3 paintings worth 50,000 USD and donated an additional 50,000 USD to support the Ho Chi Minh City Consulate General Club's charity fund in Vietnam.

It is known that the funds raised from the auction of many products such as paintings, wine, D&G handbags of famous Italian designers... will be given by the Consular Club of Ho Chi Minh City to three organizations: Planète Enfants and Development Vietnam (an organization supporting Vietnamese women who have suffered violence), VietHarvest (donating food to disadvantaged Vietnamese communities) and VinaCapital Foundation with the Brighter Path Girl's Club project to raise awareness and education for ethnic minority girls.

Ms. Milena Padula, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Consuls Club, shared that the fundraising event was completely "sold out" as it received support from many people.

Attending the charity auction were Ms. Pham Tran Thanh Thao, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Enrico Padula, Consul General of Italy and his wife, and commercial counselors as well as other officials from the consulates of 20 countries in Ho Chi Minh City such as Italy, France, Australia, Singapore, India, Thailand..., foreign enterprises and Vietnamese enterprises in the city.

After the successful auction, Mr. Hanh Nguyen did a very meaningful and extremely "diplomatic" thing by donating one painting to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs and to the President of the Ho Chi Minh City Consulate General Club, Ms. Milena Padula, wife of the Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City. He gave the remaining painting to Ms. Thuy Tien, his life partner.

Here it is not about money but about meaningful actions for the Vietnamese people of diplomats, foreigners living in Vietnam, so I feel that as a Vietnamese citizen I have the obligation to join hands with diplomats to do more good things for the Vietnamese people. We need your support to help our country develop more, we need a united world and forget about covid, war to help the lives of all humanity can be better.

I will hang the painting at the Consulate General to mark a wonderfully successful charity fundraising party.

Ms. Pham Tran Thanh Thao - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs also thanked Mr. Hanh Nguyen for his feelings and noble actions and will hang the painting at the Department of Foreign Affairs to commemorate this impressive and humane charity night.

After the Party Night, on October 16, 2023, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen and his wife, Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien, completed the donation of the auction proceeds to the Ho Chi Minh City Consulate General Club Charity Fund.
