According to the reporter's records, Truc Bach canal (running along Truc Bach street, Truc Bach ward, Ba Dinh district) has been heavily polluted for many years.

The stench day and night makes people extremely upset. What is worrying is that this ditch flows directly into Truc Bach Lake - a famous tourist destination in the capital.

Mr. Dung (living at 71 Truc Bach Street) said that for many years now, the sewer pipes have discharged waste directly into the canal and Truc Bach Lake, affecting the lives of the people. According to the representative of the People's Committee of Ba Dinh district, currently the entire Ngu Xa peninsula has no wastewater treatment system. By the first quarter of 2025, the district will implement a wastewater collection project here. The procedures have been completed, the wastewater will be collected and then sent to the treatment station at Tran Vu - Nguyen Truong To street, and finally into the city's wastewater system.

Mr. Tran Van Ba ​​(Group 12, Thuy Khue Ward, Tay Ho District) hopes that the authorities will soon handle and improve the water environment of West Lake, helping people improve their quality of life.

In November 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee agreed to stop the 2018 West Lake Dredging Project and assigned the Tay Ho District People's Committee to be the investor to propose a replacement dredging project. Accordingly, the Tay Ho District People's Committee proposed the city to support a total budget of VND 4,200 billion, of which VND 2,000 billion will be used to dredge mud and improve the environment of West Lake.

Giang Vo Lake (Ba Dinh District) is also polluted in some places, with oil slicks floating on the water surface. A representative of Giang Vo Ward People's Committee said that the environmental issue of the lake is of special concern to the district and ward. The authorities have signed a contract with a unit to regularly clean the water surface and will request the unit to handle the remaining polluted and unsightly spots...
