3 years and 2 university degrees

That girl is Pham Ngoc Khanh Linh (21 years old), just became a new graduate of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance.

Linh graduated with honors in human resource management with a GPA of 3.7/4. She also graduated with honors in international business with a GPA of 3.56/4.

According to Linh, the reason she chose international business is because she wants to understand how businesses interact and operate in the international market through the subjects. That will open up opportunities to work at multinational corporations and participate in international trade. "This major provides many important skills such as project management, communication, business analysis, financial management... These skills can be applied in many different fields and job positions. And I want to try my hand," Linh said.

At the same time, Linh also chose to study human resource management because she wanted to learn how to create a positive working environment, develop and manage human resources effectively.

"I decided to study this major because I hope it will help me develop my personal management skills, critical thinking, and ability to work in a multicultural environment. Acquiring knowledge from this major will help me become a confident and effective person in both work and life," Linh added.

New graduate Pham Ngoc Khanh Linh was radiant on the day she received her diploma.

According to the new graduate of the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City: "The intersection between these two industries is the current development trend of companies, when the labor market is in need of people with the ability to integrate internationally and coordinate human resources in businesses. At the same time, positions related to international business and human resource management often have high income potential."

Linh recalls that the process of trying to study hard and get a dual degree was very difficult. "Especially at the beginning, because I was not used to the amount of knowledge I had to receive and did not know how to balance and arrange my time properly... I encountered many difficulties. But thanks to those "bumps", I was able to withstand the high pressure. I also "explored" my own limits, found better learning methods...", Linh said.

Linh recognizes that the current job market is quite competitive. Therefore, when applying for a job, candidates must not only have a lot of knowledge but also have skills, experience, and practical experience. Therefore, graduating with a dual degree at the same time with two excellent and good results will help Linh have more job opportunities in the future.

With satisfactory results in her studies, Linh has made many teachers admire and friends admire her. "I think that the attitude of concentration throughout the process of improving knowledge, the spirit of always being ready to learn new things, as well as the constant effort and perseverance to achieve the set goals are the factors that help her conquer high scores," Linh shared.

How to study effectively

Having graduated from two majors in just three years, Linh is considered an idol by many students at the school. Sharing the secret to effective learning, Linh said: "Each student needs to set specific goals and make a clear study plan. Make a list of subjects to complete and always strive to achieve the best results."

What is the difference between double degree and double major?

According to Linh, studying a dual major means that you only need to study a certain number of subjects (about 13-15 subjects) to get a certificate. Meanwhile, studying a dual degree means that you need to study all the subjects, not the same as the first major, and the output will be a university degree.

"You must manage your time effectively by creating a specific study schedule and strictly following it. You need to prioritize studying, then spend time on entertainment and rest. You can use time management tools such as calendars and to-do lists. In addition, students should also try to study and memorize knowledge right in class. This will save a lot of time and avoid panic and anxiety during exam season," Linh added.

One of the questions students have is whether they should work part-time while studying. Linh said: "Students should work part-time because it will help them gain more skills and understand the labor market better. The experience gained during part-time work will help them gain more "plus points" when applying for jobs later. However, it is necessary to allocate time reasonably. Don't let part-time work affect your studies."

Sharing her dream, Linh said she wants to become an expert in the field of human resources. Through that, she can support many people in finding suitable jobs, especially in the field of international business. Linh also hopes to create a stable income to help her family.
