Nguyen Diep Chi, a female student from Ha Tinh, has just won a gold medal at the 10th Hong Kong International Music Festival (HKIMF), which took place from August 20-26.

Good news from Hong Kong, student Nguyen Diep Chi (born 2010) - student of class 8A1 won a gold medal at the Hong Kong International Music Festival with an excellent piano performance, which is becoming a great joy for Le Van Thiem Secondary School (Ha Tinh City).
Ms. Le Thi My Tan, homeroom teacher of class 8A1, said: “Diep Chi is the deputy class leader. She is good at all subjects, especially English. Not only is she good at cultural subjects, Chi is also active in extracurricular activities and performing arts at school. When we heard that Diep Chi won a gold medal at an international music festival, we were all very happy and excited. Diep Chi's efforts have been well rewarded.”

Since she was a child, Diep Chi was instilled with a passion for music by her mother, a piano teacher at Nguyen Du College. Lullabies and sounds from the piano while she was still in her mother's womb nurtured her passion.
Since the age of 5, Diep Chi was introduced to the piano by her mother. Along with her general education, Diep Chi passed the entrance exam to the Hanoi National Academy of Music, a 9-year intermediate program. Twice a month, she went to Hanoi to study at the school on Saturdays and Sundays. For more than 4 years, Diep Chi was always an excellent student at the academy and was sent by the school to perform in many music programs at home and abroad.

In July 2023, Diep Chi was one of the school's five outstanding students selected to participate in the 2023 International Piano Competition in Korea. With the silver medal won at the competition, she continued to be selected to participate in the music festival in Hong Kong. This is one of the most prestigious music festivals in the world, sponsored by the Hong Kong Government and recognized by many music schools and international educational organizations. With a large scale, the Hong Kong International Music Festival combines many diverse music genres, bringing together 150 regions around the world, such as Canada, UK, USA, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Korea, Malaysia, etc.
Master - Pianist Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha, lecturer of the Piano Department (Vietnam National Academy of Music) said: "Diep Chi is a very sociable and self-disciplined girl. Participating in the Hong Kong International Music Festival this time, competing with 4,000 contestants, Diep Chi had an excellent performance, bringing home a gold medal - a high achievement for the Vietnamese delegation. I believe she will have more success on her musical path."
Not disappointing the expectations and hard work of the little girl and the guidance of the teachers at the academy, the gold medal called Nguyen Diep Chi's name with great pride. With the performance of the work "Fantaisie-Impromptu Cis-moll Op.66", Diep Chi successfully convinced the judges.
Diep Chi shared: “I am very happy and pleased to achieve this result. This is a valuable opportunity for me to gain more experience and skills, thereby helping me learn the piano better. I will also focus on learning English well to effectively support my piano learning.”

Sharing the joy with her daughter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Chuyen - Diep Chi's mother said: "Learning the piano is really not easy, you have to be very disciplined and make a lot of effort, even your hands have to endure pain. She also had to put aside a lot of childhood joys to devote to learning the piano... However, with her passion for music, she persevered to overcome to be able to both learn the piano and study cultural subjects well. The whole family always encourages and accompanies her every step of the way."
Returning from Hong Kong, Nguyen Diep Chi continued her journey to enter the new school year at Le Van Thiem Secondary School, and at the same time studied the 5th year of intermediate level at the National Academy of Music.
I believe that with her passion for music, supported by her family and teachers, Diep Chi will continue to shine even brighter not only on domestic stages but also abroad, contributing to promoting the image of Ha Tinh people and Vietnamese people to international friends.
